Issue With Filling Gas....

Another of my infamous questions....but, each time I go to fill up at the gas station, I notice that it is difficult to get the gas in without tripping the auto shutoff on the pump. That usually means splashing in the fill tube. Is that common with Vipers...mine is a 98 RT/10?:dunno:

Thanks.

I had this same issue when I first got my 97 GTS and the owners over here suggested twisting the pump nozzle through 90 degrees (hold it sideways) that works great for me, the nozzle trips exactly when the tank is full.

I suppose I should add that over here we cannot click the nozzle to the on position and walk away while the tank fills, we have to constantly hold the nozzle on, thus lowering the likelihood of spillage from this type of action.

My 99 RT is the same way. I just remember which stations are the good ones where the auto shut-off feature seems to work properly with a viper.

Cool, thanks very much!:headbang: I'll have to pay more attention to the pumps I use...also, will try the 90 degree thing and see how that works.

Appreciate the input.:2tu:

Same problem with my 06. I turn the nozzle upside down--works every time and shuts off automatically. John

90 degree works for mine as well. Knock on wood (my head), I have not spilled fuel on the car. :D
