Im looking at doing a buget underdrive pulley upgrade to my 02. I remember reading that you could use a 5.9 Dakota underdrive crank pulley as an underdrive pulley on our cars. Is there anything else to this? Is it just as simple as adding that pulley and a shorter belt? Is there anything else I need to know? Im just worried if my charging system can keep up if i do the swap.

how much power in the mustang compared to the viper? it would be very diffycult to detect a 5 hp increase when you start of with 450..plus I truly think here are better methods to increase the power and performance in a Viper...

Does anybody have any empirical data to back up the swap being a waste of money? In the SRT10 forum somebody was able to show a modest 10 HP and 16 lb/ft torque increase on the dyno. Small gain yes but as a part of an overall strategy could be decent. Opinions are great but let's see some hard data. On top of this has anybody done this swap and have any tips etc? I am thinking about doing it but I am back to the orginal question that the thread started. Dakota underdrive pulley work? What belt after the swap? Thanks.

Belt size depends on other Variables, are you running AC?

Right. That is where I first saw it per se but that is a Gen III and not germaine to us Gen I/II guys. Any info out there about the dakota pulley and or what belt will work? PartsRack does have the UDP kit for GenI/II for $169.00 minus the belt.

I bought mine for my Gen.1 from Parts Rack. It takes a 2 inch shorter belt. I gained 10 RWHP on the dyno with the underdrive pulley.
