That car was at the So. Cal (Irvine) cars and coffee a few months back.
Here are a few pics I took on the same day it got totalled... what a waste...
I agree the car should be worth no more than 20K....
I'm actually getting the intake ported thru DC performance and
should have a dyno result very shortly.
My car has headers and mopar pcm which complements the ported
intake so no apple to apple comparison here. However, according
to the DC, well ported intake should add about 10-15HP to the...
I'm having the 5th and 6th gear swap through DC performance and you should
talk to Dan for the price of gear swap. I can't wait to feel the difference in up top...
Are you referring to the rear gear swap? or 5th and 6th gear change?
Cuz the reason for 5th and 6th gear change is for 140+ run and
this won't make a difference at the 1/4 strip since the car will
pass the 1/4 mark in 3rd or 4th gear.
And that's exactly what I'm doing on my Gen 4. :D
First, I'm getting the 5th and 6th gear changed to .80 and .63 then
the 3.55 rear gear with quaife diff.
When the mods complete I will report back with how it does in 1 mile
run as well as on the strip. :2tu:
Fikse, I'm launching the car at 3.5K and short shifting 1-2 at about 5.5K.
The only reason I short shift at 5.5K is to avoid violent wheel hops (still
has wheel hops though).
I tried 1-2 shift right at the red line but the wheel hop was just too crazy.
Great run and awesome 60ft time!! :2tu:
Fikse, did you by any chance short shift 1-2 and cross the 1/4
in 3rd gear?
I was just quick comparing with my time slip and I've noticed
that your 1/8 trap speed is about 2mph slower at 98.75mph
but gained a whopping 33.95mph in back half.
When...
You guys are lucky to have a such event !!!
In Cali, we have a similar event called 'Mojave Mile' but the
dreaded 28 pages long safety guide lines requiring fire
extinguisher, 5 point seat belts, roll cage/bar, nomex fire
suit and etc are just too much of hassle for me to see my
car...
Thanks for the heads up.
Dan at DC also advised not to do the motor mounts as it may cause some
of the issues you've mentioned.
Next time I hit the strip, I'll be running with DR tires to eliminate the wheel
hops.
I did get the woodhouse tranny mount but not engine mount.
It sure did eliminate some wheel hops but it's still present when
driven hard. I'm thinking may be the new suspension set up
(motons) causing it?
Unless the engine mounts dramatically reduces wheel hops
I'll just learn to live with them.
My car isn't making enough power to have those clutch/shifting issues...
It must be the air or the track here is Cali. since no one has claimed
running better than 10.8 even with high HP (580whp-600whp) cars. :(
Wow, that's great time..... 129mph on a stock Gen 4 is just
amazing. :2tu:
I really want to go to Mojave mile event but they are making
a big hassle for me since my car is vert. They say I must have
a roll bar and 5 point seat belts to run more than 165mph. :curse:
I don't remember what the best run was but I saw his few runs
in the low 12's with 120-125 trap speed. I heard it was his first
time to the strip. BTW, nice ET with your GT-R, I'm still trying to
break 10's with the 600whp (somewhat inflated) GT-R although
it recently ran 10.7@134mph on the...
This was a private drag event so the track officials didn't care
about the NHRA rules. Heck, last Nov. they even let the driver
run without the helmet in his Carrera GT
Thanks, I'm excited to get into 10's with more seat time.
And yeah, I was wondering where you were at the event...
There were less than 20 cars total so the time was all we
had doing some countless runs. There was this GT-R did
more than 30 runs :omg:
BTW, how was Sacramento event?
