Absolutely coolest project Ive seen in a long time. Huge:2tu: How about painting the trailer sides and fenders black instead of the silver finish it has now? Might look cool that way with ACR like black wheels. Actually it perfect the way it it but you know its hard to resist modding...
Congrats. Nice finish SRT. Soooo close. It wont be long till the first victory. Tire management was the problem NOT mechanical or handling. That is great news in my book. So they jsut have to learn these tires a little bit better and hopefully get hit less and I can see a win very soon...
I would love to see the first road legal all motor 800hp car from any mfg. Ive seen way over 1000+hp NA at the drags and love em but to see an 800+hp NA street legal car with a warranty "from a major mfg" would be astounding. The Viper motor has the capability but not the R&D dollars. If they...
That sounds sweet. A serious SV. That 7:25 time is not bad at all for such a heavy car on Corsas. The SV may just get close to or beat the old ACR time but I really doubt it will be any competition for the upcoming ACR. We shall see. Exiting times.
I do like how they are giving it 80-100hp...
 You might need to believe "all" the Vettes cheated to get the 10's and that's fine. The bottom line is the Viper can be made to be just as great on the drag strip as it is in the corners. It once was until the competitions technology negated that advantage. Look at the ZR1. Its...
Re: Motor Authority: 2013 SRT Viper: Majority Of Orders Are For Ferrari-Influenced GT
That made me laugh. Very true. Bland, boring, monotone and almost emotionless. Way to get me to want to watch more Motor Authority car vids:rolleyes:
But but then it wont be stock. :) I think most want it to do those times stock. Im pretty sure it will do 10's bone stock without the headers etc in the right hands.
Hmmmm. The plot thickens. Anyway I agree with you on the mark missing in terms of the straight line speed aspect but you have to say they did hit it "barely" with the handling even with inferior rubber. It is faster than most of the current under 500k cars around Laguna Seca and I suspect...
Well said. I can't argue any of those points with a serious face. I definitely prefer the Viper to be better at the road course than the drags everytime which it is as we all know against those cars mentioned. Despite the early outcome with Brooks I still think it will hit the 10's @ 133mph...
Regardless of the excuses I've heard I agree with all that think the mph is suspect. Maybe it's because of the taller tires, maybe it's because of this or that. The bottom line is the car with lighter weight, better gearing, more power etc than the Gen IV. So when the right owners get em to a...
I think I remember Ralph saying they softened it in a recent video. Its definitely better than the preproduction super stiff setup. I didn't hear Randy complain about the stiffness in the retest only that the GTS rear end is not as planted as the SRT's in corners. It would be nice to know...
I havent seen any pics of the newer production spec cars without that gap in the trunk lid sadly. That shouldnt have gotten by QC imho for the price of the car. Oh well. The FGT had a bad fit to the rear clamshell too at a similar price point. You dont see that often on the Euro supercars.
<---- Taking a chill pill and relaxing:smirk:
As regards the color its hard to describe especially with pictures because lighting can make it look pale or vibrant. It does remind me of the Mclaren Orange and that popsicle above lol.
Very true. I didnt realize the Mclaren MP4 was this fast. Its trapping 134mph stock which is a far cry from the Vipers 127-128mph that weve seen so far. At least the Viper beats them in the twisties so far. I think those cars just have the tech advantage in putting the power down. And of...
I see. Incredible the Mclaren is that fast bonestock. Wow.
I should have put two and two together after seeing his post on Lambopower. Not bad for the first time in car. I'm sure it will be in the tens soon enough with more practice.
Am I the only one thinking those times and mph on "drag radials" ain't that great?
Anyway it's cool they let one out to play like that. That Mclaren just cant be bonestock if its doing 10.3's.
Not sure if that initial sentence is aimed at me since Im the one discussing the P1 in light of the upcoming ACR. If it is then thats your opinion but you would be wrong about me. Anyway I agree with your following premise hence my initially discussing the P1 and ACR. I've seen what the...
Ahh...Thats too bad. It seems like Michelin makes a better tire than Perelli across the board. When I get the time Ill check up on Tire Rack and see the rating between the two mfg just out of curiosity. At the end of the day its run what you brung.
I got ya.
Yes I'm looking forward to the F12 run at LS too. At the Fiorano test track the F12 is 1.9 seconds faster then the Enzo and 1 sec faster than the Italia. Its wearing MPSS tires. Dont know if they are better than the P Zeros the GTS comes with standard or how they stack up to the...
