He's lying, you're allowed to 11.50. Anyone that says otherwise has their head up their ass and doesn't know what they're talking about. Just ask him to show you an NHRA rulebook where anything is required ABOVE 11.50
Did you get parachute envy at Pinks at Zmax? Trust me, having a chute on the back will get you more random comments than you can imagine. When people ask, why do you have that on the car, I simply reply: You have to have one to go over 150 at the track.
Now, if you can just clean those...
The auto makes it a blast to drive and very safe. I'd given anything for it to be a 1/4 mile track on that pass. No doubt I was running 8.90's. Which on a Invo is just insane. Hopefully I can duplicate that run in the SRT vert when it's done :). Racing on street tires is an absolute blast...
My car is loud. I can set off car alarms driving by without too much issue if I get close. You can hear my car from a long way away, according to people that have been at my house when I head home. In the garage when cranked, it vibrates most of the house. Under WOT, the car is fairly quiet.
It won't run till July. I didn't make the group of 64 as the car was too fast. They choose 11 second cars. Most didn't realize I wasn't running slicks :). It was a good time, anyone that has the opportunity to run one, should.
I'm sure my run will be on TV as the guys hood came off beside me at 130.
This was me this past fall running 17lbs, on the 20" invo's. I did put 5 gallons of 106 in, along with the pump gas included. Drove it to track, turned it up and then drove it home:
I didn't put race gas in my car this weekend at pinks, twin turbo application and was running 9's on street tires (invo's) all weekend. If I don't need it running base boost, you won't either, I promise.
Just as an FYI, they took a low 11 second group for the pinks at zmax this weekend. My 9.80's at 150 on 10lbs of boost and 20" invo's wasn't good enough to get picked!
I have a 98 GTS with no badges. People ask all the time "what is that". I'll have the 05 SRT in 10 days or so (painted lambo pearl white). Will be curious in the difference. The GTS has a rollcage and parachute so it gets attention for that.
What is not good to do, is to get new Invo's put on and forget they are set at around 40lbs and trying to make a run haha. That happened to me last night. After a 20lb drop I finally got something to hook haha.
Them not seeing you has nothing to do with not wanting to do the work. Drive by their shop, there are 20+ cars getting full builds in there. Only so many employee's.
I'm in central NC, burlington to be exact. Travel schedule has been a bit nuts. I'll try to follow any posts about a get together. Should have the new TT done in 3-4 weeks. Otherwise I'll bring ole blue out.
I drive mine all the time when weather is nice. I've raced mine countless time. I do big pulls on the interstate. The only thing I've done is change oil. I've driven my car to the drag strip, ran in the 5's and drove home (1/8th mile). I will be driving it to pinks all out next month and...
I said his car is amazing. I wasn't putting down his car. I simply said I believe Sal's car is more impressive due to being an IRS car. If you fail to see the difference, then I'll assume you don't drag race.
