Anyone else notice the Gen5 trolls have not been around

The main issue with driving a P-car on a daily basis is that you encounter so many at stop lights with a little fluffy white poodle hanging out the window. That would be embarrassing to be associated with. Now, to lose a drag race to someone with Fluffy sitting in their lap, would be...

What is Dodge's warranty stance when something breaks on the track?

Some of the Viper owner's manuals? Then the question would be what is Dodge's definition of racing. HPDE events are not racing as far as the organizer's definition.

    Brake Fluid

So, what I take away from what you are saying is that a brake fluid with a boiling point of around 500F and maybe less, at the time of HPDE racing should be sufficient? ( I see a recent article that says the boiling point of the new Castrol LMA synthetic is 509F dry and 311 wet (after 1 year)...

No money to fund racing but Dodge has money for stupid stuff like this:

Agreed Dodge should quit marketing their brand. Especially to the Motley Crue crowd. Losers with no money for cars. :crazy2:

    P1719 & po138 po158

Yes, I would suspect that one of those cheap eliminators failed. You can picture a person assembling it at 2 cents a part after just having learned which end of a soldering iron to hold. Or, just plug the skip shift connector back in and live with the occasional nanny block.

Beautiful 02 Graphite Silver on Ebay for good price

That's an imprssive price right now, if it is a real bidder ( $50k ). Of course, it is the best color of the Gen 2 GTS cars , IMHO __________________________________________________ Jim – ‘02 GTS ACR gray/silver -- sold – ( enthusiastic custodian for 8 years )

    Anyone Plasti Dip Racing Stripes?

I hadn't heard of that idea. Seems like a good alternative to fooling with vinyl just to see if you like the look. I wonder how long it lasts, looking good. Do you ensure that the car is waxed before applying it, or do you strip the wax?

    New owner in Monaco

Welcome to the world of Viper ownership ! There are many of us that dream of being able to drive the Viper throughout Europe, and certainly Monaco would be tops on a destination list. I challenge you to post a photo of the car in a location that is quintessential Monaco. Such as in front of...

Re: Electrical gremlin caused car to stall out-ABS + Parking brake light on-stereo di I also buy Autozone Duralast Gold. They have a pretty good rep on the internet. ( I always used to have good luck with Optimas purchased before they moved manufacturung to Mexico. They may or may not have...

Electrical gremlin caused car to stall out-ABS + Parking brake light on-stereo dies -

Re: Electrical gremlin caused car to stall out-ABS + Parking brake light on-stereo di Well, I'd say that the battery is either very low on charge, or possibly you have a bad cell that is causing the voltage to be that low under non-running load. It should be over 12.5 or more volts if charged...

Need opinions fast!!!! Color combos on 2 viper gts help

That dealer has really bad pictures to represent the car. Here is what the car would look like if you were 4 feet away with fisheyes, LOL ! I owned a graphite gray 2002 (with silver stripes) for 8 years. Everyone who saw it in person remarked on how great that color suited the Viper. (me...

Why so many Vipers have accidents in history?

No, not less than a Vette, IMHO. I would say that many folks looking for Vipers want a one or two owner , low mileage, no stories car. People tend to want to steer clear of a car that has had an accident because they don't want to bother getting the car inspected, and are worried about the...

Why so many Vipers have accidents in history?

A viper attracts a certain type of personality which can not resist pushing the right most pedal down abruptly, and repeatedly, before learning the consequences. Even for those that are acceleration-savvy occasionally there comes a time when there is a reversion to one's teenage persona that...

    trasmission (or elsewhere) noise

With only 8000 miles on the car? I wouldn't think that there would be significant degradation. I guess that ozone and time could cause the rubber to stiffen up and could make the normal driveline "slop" issue be more noticeable.

    A philisophical question, regarding tires.

It is understandable that when one has provided long term support to a club and then it decides to compete in the same business that pays your pay check, essentially telling you to take a hike, one would be a little annoyed I have dealt with Luke and Jim at Tirerack as a result of two different...

Viper runs hot when sitting in traffic

    1. Were these items replaced due to this issue, or was that just a list of things done some time in the past years? 2. Does "radiator/hoses" mean that you replaced the radiator and the hoses? If not, I would suggest getting the radiator rodded out. 3. Have you checked the wiring and connections...

    Spun bearing issues?

I've only rebuilt a couple of very simple low tech, old 4 and 6 cylinder engines. In my reading over the years, I have not encountered the terminology you used about bearings. A Google search wasn't explicit; but, from what I learned this morning, I am thinking that your terminology refers to...

Is there a sticky for Viper shoppers?

A sticky is a good idea (if people could find it). Here is the definitive buyer s guide; but, it is older, so, it doesn't cover after 2004 http://www.viperbuyersguide.com/ As far as Gen 2, this thread has good info: http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/651808-What-year-is-best And some for...
