It is very difficult to troubleshoot an electrical problem without using a voltmeter to determine what is happening. The first thing that I would want to know is if your new battery is fully charged, i.e., I would want to know what is the voltage at the battery terminals and then also from the...
I had considered the upgrade you are talking about; but, Jon at Partsrack.com had a very good price on a Stoptech big brake kit; so, I went with that. It used the emergency brake kit from IPSCO with some modifications; so, that is how I became acquainted with Mark at IPSCO.
I did the upgrade...
I am not really familiar with that; but, remember it being discussed before. Here is a link to a vendor who has posted parts lists. http://www.roeracing.com/productcart/pc/Original-Equipment-Parts-d7.htm
It appears that you are referring to part# 4643520, torsion stabilizer bar, and it looks...
Vipair does not have a good reputation amongst quite a few buyers. Others did not have an issue. Do your research if you do find them in business. I think that Jeff Lemke also did coupe rear end conversions (just the rear of the trunk area, not the hatch.) He has an excellent reputation...
Just a side note. The Rival is a Michelin product. BF Goodrich has been a Michelin brand for almost 30 years; but, with the positive aspect of being made in the USA. (mostly Alabama)
I see that the 998 recall is not done. That isn't necessarily a bad thing; but, if you want to get it done, there are only a few trustworthy places to do it right, that will be paid for by Dodge. (That is, according to posts on the forums.)
I can imagine a grandma looking for a cheap late model Hyundai falling for that scam; but, a Viper buyer falling for it? That person would certainly benefit from the lesson learned; so, the scammer is actually doing the community a favor in helping to weed the garden.
Because of a leak in my 2002 GTS steering rack, I did some research some time ago and saved the following link: http://www.viperalley.com/forum/2349697-post13.html
Are you asking the question because of the tie rod ends? If so, this may supply the answer you need: http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/535777-Inner-tie-rod-end-part-2
I would be interested in reading your impressions about the driving experience of the TA versus the GTS. Not from a comfort standpoint; but, from a seat-of-the-pants driving experience.
I remember reading a post about how the non-Mopar hubs come without the center stub axle thing and that you must reuse the old one if you buy the aftermarket hubs that come without that. The Mopar part supposedly comes with that stub and nut. I haven't looked at it myself, but a vendor has said...
By the way, the lower rate rear springs that I mentioned above, that I bought from Jon at partsrack were the same manufacturer and color as the OE stiff as hell springs. That made a great improvement in ride and handling, IMHO.
You are definitely right to be suspicious. I am following the used Gen V market, and there are quite a few cars that have been advertised with attractive prices and they end up being manufacturer buyback cars. I think that causes a big hit on value; even if they have managed to fix the car.
That seems like market price, at least compared to another similar one that I know of that sold. The Carfax is clean.
That the price is reasonable for a very lightly used car with no warranty. Assuming that he bought it for invoice or less, that would be around 10% depreciation? That seems...
I had a Gen 2 , and didn't have the kind of issue you describe. However I do remember people complaining of it, more on the Gen 3. I have a hazy memory of people blaming it on the run flats that were OEM.
Here is a couple of representative threads like I was thinking of...
Did they just do the front, or did they do a 4 wheel alignment? You definitely should have a 4 wheel alignment done; but, they would know that if they are competent. It is usually extra cost, though.
Oh, but, I read a post by a guy who said that he has a friend who works on the Viper team in Detroit and who says there will be a new Viper announced in 2018. Seriously. No joke intended.
So, there you have it. As reliable as hearing it from NBC Nightly News !
But, maybe he was talking about...
