Hmmmm.... So your brain tells you SRT. What does your heart say? I know mine yells Ford GT over a SRT10 any day of the week. Exactly why DC/PVO needs to make the GTSR concept a reality.
Just curious how this would look.... Black special ed. VCA rims on a white Mamba. Pics side by side (white/OEM vs. white/black) would even be better to compare....
Thanks in advance.....
Who cares? We know what happens on the US tracks in real-life grassroots racing. I could give an 'F' if it turned 10:00 minute times on the 'Ring....
Logically, no C6 (non-Z06) Vette is going to turn a better lap time (on any track) than a SRT-10 (equal drivers). If you didn't know, I...
The milky white appearance of your OEM rims is (for the most part) fine scratches in the clear coat. Try this: Buy some 3M swirl mark remover. Apply with small terry rag. Buff fast and hard to create some heat. Buff of any remaining residue. Works like a champ!
P.S. - Unless you have a...
John does nice work at a reasonable price. I also prefer a one-piece wheel, vs. the 3 piece. Although, I would prefer a clear-coated wheel (like OEM). Bare aluminum is too much work unless it is a garage queen. Not sure if John offers this service? Anyone know?
Spoken like a true Aristocrat. Unfortunately, many of us don't have that luxury, although someday I hope to. High ROI is the only way we can justify this type of purchase, and the only way we can afford to make it....
Anyway, I never though I would consider a SRT-10. But if they are starting...
Wow! Looks incredible!
But, I have an idea. Everywhere you see chrome, make it black chrome. You know, the same color as the rims. I think that would look incredible! Have you thought of this yet (George), or stupid idea?
OK. I like your idea of the wing/roof scoupe/splitters being options. Great idea, as it give the buyer options.
We'll have to agree to disagree on the rear quarter panel air inlet. I love it! But with, or without, the car is still incredible!
"If you build it, they will come......"
1.) Dump the wing and roof scoup. Will actually look BETTER without them.
2.) Lose the front and side splitters. Not feasible on a street car.
4.) Raise the car a bit for speed bumps. 1/2 lower than the Gen II GTS sound about right. So that's what, 3.5 inch ground clearance or so.
5.)...
Not bad, but am I missing something? Just looks like a Gen III SRT-10 with a Gen II GTS roof/rear glass. Doesn't look bad, though. GTS-R is still the cat's meow, IMO.
P.S. - White looks bad-asp in the GEN III.
Allan,
Just to p*ss you off, I leave this quote from the man that RUNS the One Lap of America. The creator. Senior Editor of Car & Driver - Brock Yates. Inventor of the 'Cannonball Run'. I truly feel he has forgot more than all of us know about the potential of production automobiles...
When? I assume the 340 refers to HP (I could be wrong). The 2005 EVO MR will only produce 276 HP, and even that's not out yet. BTW, this car will cost around $35,000 and produce low 13's in the 1/4 at low 100's MPH. Not exactly a bargain at this price, but I will admit a base EVO RS at...
I'll give you the One Lap point (about drivers), although many cars are kept stock and models that participate ARE from all over the World. On the other hand, YOU base your opinion on 1.) TV Shows 2.) Magazines 3.) Cars that are not even sold in the US (Special spec EVO'S  )...
Dude, GIVE IT UP! Lap times... Lap times? Are you kidding me? The Z06 and Viper are two of THE BEST cars under $250,000 on a road course. Look at the One Lap of America winners the past 5 years. Look what cars are at the top of grassroots racing across the USA. Look at the cars that come...
Yep. That's because the Viper owner starts in the proper gear on 2 of them, and not in the other 2. Just listen.
Race #1 and #3 - Proper gear.
Race #2 and #4 - 1 gear too high on #2. At least 1 gear too high (maybe 2) in #4.
When cars are this evenly matched, starting in the...
Wow. You beat a car that broke.
Seriously, the Z06 is one of my favorite cars (excluding the Viper). But on the rare occasion I read the Corvette boards, it is just a bunch of F'in tools. Just another reason to be happy I own a Viper.
Not sure I agree with these statements. How does the styling effect driveability? Obviously a street version of the GTS-R would lose the front/side splitters (possible the wing), and probably be raised an inch. But it would still look every bit as bad asp, and be very tasteful IMO. I don't...
