Where are you getting that the '14 GTR will have 585 HP? There are no HP increases for the '14 GTR, just a premium interior option and minor tweaks. The GTR is a beast in street light races, but I don't see it running with the ZR1 or Viper mounted with R compounds around tracks.
I don't recall ever reading or hearing about any problems with the ACR's brakes. I find it odd that they would be problems now, especially when it looks like the Gen V has even more brake cooling. I wonder what has changed.
Yes, and there are multiple long threads on the vette forum full of nothing but excuses whenever the Viper gets the best of the ZR1. My point was, there hasn't been enough tests with the Gen V yet to determine exactly how well it performs.
You were no where to be found here when the ACR kicked the ZR1's ass around the Ring. You and the gang were on the vette forum making excuses about how the ACR isn't street legal. Now all of a sudden the ZR1 wins one Motortrend comparo and you're claiming the vette is superior. This is like...
Re: Corvette Needs the Viper to be at the Top of its Game...
I recall reading one of Randy's reviews where he said he usually prefers running with all aids turned off. He may not be comfortable with PTM (mashing the throttle at the apex) in a short amount of time to shave off much if any time...
Re: Corvette Needs the Viper to be at the Top of its Game...
2 seconds is a large margin to overcome if both cars were pushed to their limit. But Randy stated himself, he didn't have confidence in the Viper so there may very well be over 2 seconds left in it. Yes, I'm aware of the PTM as I...
SRT likely had 100% confidence in their car... Randy didn't have the confidence to drive it harder. Or perhaps Jalopnik is right and MT is back to their trolling games just looking to get attention and more readers. You know there will be more comparisons Car & Driver, Road & Track, the online...
Re: Corvette Needs the Viper to be at the Top of its Game...
You have likely jumped the gun as the next same day comparison with the ZR1 could have the Viper come out on top by an equal of not greater margin. I do believe Ralph when he said they had a ZR1 on hand during testing so I know...
More than likely, the Viper MT tested had the track pack rotors (it would be very odd if it didn't). There is no upgraded aero on the ZR1 as the splitter, spoiler, and side skirts have all been there since the 2009 model. GM started offering PS Cups for the '12 ZR1. The ZR1's PTM started on...
I wonder if that ZR1 had PS Cups on it. It looks like it does because those are the lightweight rims that come on the Centennial Edition. It's fair if it has the Cups since the Viper has the track pack.
Lol, there were a few times I thought we were about to die. All it would have taken is for one person to move over into the fast lane without checking their mirrors! When he finally pulled over so I could drive it took a while for adrenaline to come down so I could focus. :hypno: Was an...
