Drag racing isn't my thing, but for those that are primarily concerned with the drag strip... is the Viper really best suited for drag racing? I would think it's easier to get a cheaper muscle car and mod the hell out of to get the 1/4 mile times you're after. I guess I just don't understand...
Yes, it can be tricky to get in and out. I was able to get two fantastic test drives with the McLaren and 458 while I was in Germany last year. Spent about an hour in each and test drives there are full on 150 mph+ blast down the autobahn, nice runs on backroads, and some time spent on small...
458's will take a hit soon. The market for 300K cars is just too small right now and a lot of 458 owners are trading for the Spider. Many of them buy just to flip 'em anyway.
The McLaren is already dropping rapidly, so I've been keeping my eye on them.
The black stripes seem to work against the aesthetics of the rear of the car because of that black surround panel. Would probably look better if that panel was body colored.
Congrats on your order! I can't wait to see pictures of it because that's the same color scheme I'm going to order! I have to wait till Feb. for my order because I want the carbon fiber packages.
It's not an excuse at all, SRT is offering more options just like other manufacturers. If you don't like the options, you can OPT to not order them. But I agree with what Paul Hawker said that the prices for these options are in-line for what they cost on other cars. Overall the GTS is still...
Ferrari only builds high-end sports cars. If they built economy cars, family sedans (the FF doesn't count), trucks, and minivans they might have a separate badging and/or brand for their sports cars. Now that the Viper is under the SRT brand, it's only directly associated with Chrysler's...
I wanted a GTS Blue with White stripes Gen V from the start, but I feel the same way as mnc2886 about a lot of the options (or lack of options) the Launch Edition comes with. I'm starting to think it would be better to just order a GTS in GTS Blue, customize it the way I want it, then send it...
A fully optioned GTS is still far cheaper than most (if not all) more exotic looking cars. My R8 V10 ran me about $170K and a new Gallardo will set you back about $190 - $210K. Once you go above that you're in MP4-12C and 458 Italia territory and you're looking at $250K easy. So you'll be...
I just hope the Launch Edition is customizable. I'd prefer to get it with more color in the interior along with the Track Package w/ matte wheels. Also the carbon fiber exterior trim pieces are a must have. Maybe even the SRT hood.
Did SRT say we wont be able to turn the LED DRLs off? I can turn them off on my R8. Just about all recent high-end cars are implementing LED lights in some form (then again so are a lot of cheap cars), but I don't think the Viper's design cheapens the look of the car. The small horizontal LED...
I doubt anyone told them that during the unveiling in NY or at any of the other events showcasing the car. Seems the vast majority of people interested in the car have no complaints about the LEDs.
