I think the sliders can be had in brass instead of plastic, but I'm not sure where to order them. The transmission shop mentioned that they could order them in brass, but the transmission was already torn down and I was impatient to get my car back. It sounds like the same problem I had, so if...
I had the same thing with mine when I bought it. It was a bad reverse slider. They're made of plastic. I just had the whole thing rebuilt, clutch replaced. Before I had it fixed, I'd have better luck getting it into reverse if I engaged 1st before reverse since they're on the same syncro.
35k is seems little low for a 15k mile GTS. The Blue/White have been going for quite a bit more lately.
Cigar, that's a clean looking R/T you picked up. Enjoy!
Have it put up on a rack and check it out well. I would think you could offer low-mid twenties, then again, I wouldn't take that for mine (97 GTS salvage w/ 36k miles). It really depends on the condition, the repairs and the seller. I wouldn't advise paying over 30k. What are they asking for the...
You may find one in the 25k range. I picked up one that pretty much fit your description a year ago for <25k. ~ 30k miles, frame is straight, my airbag may be toast because the airbag light stays on, but the car runs great. My paint isn't perfect but looks great from 5'. There are several things...
You probably won't like the deal that a car dealer wants to make, but there's no harm in making a reasonable offer. The worst that can happen is they'll turn you down... or laugh at you. Factor in that you'll save a few bucks on sales tax if trading in. Its worth a shot, just don't expect a steal.
Gotcha, its an easy enough fix. I'll try to get around to disconnecting it tomorrow and see if it sounds any better. I didn't realize how the signal was split. Thanks for the info.
The stock harness has seperate wires for the woofer and tweeter. I ran both of those to the input of the crossover. And yes, I ran new wires from the output to the woofer/tweeter seperately. If it makes more sense, I did not run anything all the way from the amp, I just used the wires already in...
I actually worked on this yesterday before I read your post. I ran both the woofer and tweeter wire to the input of the crossover and it sounds 100% better. Do you think I should rewire it as you suggested or leave it as is. It sounds a lot better already.
Your installation looks great!
I have a question unrelated to the way you hooked yours up, but you or someone else may be able to answer. Using the stock amp (which has separate outputs for low and highs for the front), how should you connect to the input of the crossover for the front door...
I like the Rivals. However I don't have anything to compare except the 10 year old tires my car came with. As you would expect, the difference is night and day. I have to actually try (a little) to spin the tires. They hook up great. They aren't noisy (which I have heard some people say about...
