what weight oil is everyone running?
Congrats and welcome back!! Would you be bringing it up to the Norcal event at Thunderhill this coming weekend? Regarding oil, for the street 0-40....for the track running hard 15-50. I like the Motul stuff for the track...on the street, any name brand oil that meets the specs will work...- TrackAire

Brake shudder caused by pad deposits on TA front rotors
The shop near me uses 3M Roloc 2" Coarse abrasion pads to clean up minor buildup on rotors. It is small enough in diameter that you can often clean both sides of the rotor with the it still on the car. Google the name for an image or to get an idea of how they look/work.- TrackAire

The reality is the Rossion is a very cool car, very fast and because of its low weight, it is very, very track capable. The 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are very dependent on vehicle traction, weight, tire type, suspension design and vehicle center of gravity for the weight shift to the rear (only talking about rear wheel drive cars in this situation). Peter, I don't think it has anything to do with handicapped people, older buyers, etc......technically, the DCT "should" make the Viper faster on both the drag strip and road course. What is the biggest appeal of a performance car?.....to have the most performance. That is what sells cars...- TrackAire

The biggest problem with an quick shifting auto would be the rest of the cars system could not sustain the added performance on a road course (this is assuming the "auto" trans would not overheat during track type events). Don't waste your time with a dealer, in the SF Bay area there is a company that rents the Gen 5. Use your frequent flyer points, get your butt out here and enjoy the car for a 24 hour period.....that is the only way to know if you really want to go in this direction. You forgot about Econ 101.5......Order the product from the manufacturer, sell it for $7.00, deliver it to the customer but never pay the manufacturer. "And there is no "America" anywhere to be found in the acronym VOA. Hmmm..." Seeing as there are Viper owners in Canada, Japan, Europe, etc....I can see the need for a global club name. Kind of makes sense.- TrackAire

In a big corporate system like Chrysler, you don't get a demotion because of epic sales and profitability......if anything, Ralph might be under more pressure because his performance will be watched even closer with much fewer chances if things don't go as planned. Not a good feeling.- TrackAire

Who has put headers on their car?
I'm running a catless ACR-X header and muffler system and honestly have never smelled fumes. I am also running the Mopar PCM so maybe it leans out the mixture a bit. But it is loud and at idle, when standing at the rear to lift or close the hatch the sound waves actually knock the brain matter...- TrackAire

What I found is you can get about 2500 miles on a set of the aftermarket cats before the efficiency takes a crap and you get a CEL. I have yet to find an aftermarket cat that is anywhere close to the longevity of the stock system. Maybe that is why the stock set up is two rather porky cats for...- TrackAire
