Good thinking Chad
Can't be any more raw than some of the Cobra road legal racers out there
As for ground clearance - as promised to Heffner - I'm going to drop by and give Jason the contact for that air suspension specialist. It might not be what you want - but this cutting edge technology...
If you wanted to run the Silverstate Classic road race - a cooler would be a good idea, but for most street driving, chances are unlikely you could keep the power down long enough to overheat the diff.... you are more likely to run out of road first... unless you have some open ground and know...
looks very good from this angle, the extra rear rake since VOI8 makes a difference. It might not be a comp coupe but its a big improvement on the prototype. That car will still be recognized as a Viper anywhere
Sad to hear this. The ME 4-12 was an amazing car.
Still I never understood why Chrysler used an super expensive GERMAN V12 that was totally redesigned when they could have saved millions in design and production costs by twin turbo'ing and redesigning the V10 they already have - PLUS it is...
Re: Hey DC, the Viper crowd likes this...
While beauty is in the eye of the beholder - it'd be brave marketing manager who gambled the success of a prestigious new car on a bubble top design verses the sleek competition coupe lines that people already like.
If DC invests the money to build a...
I agree with Newt - there is no doubt the real launch could be a surprise.
I also agree with Ab's take on that photoshop - the concept coupe roof looks like an ugly bubble. There is nothing you can do to make a bubbletop look good.
The photoshop gives the SRT10 a MUCH nicer GTS roof - and...
Just funnin with ya - Bruce
Agreed - value for money - nitrous or a blower is the hp bargain... but as you know - nitrous runs out and a blower adds weight and runs hot on a road course if you get into it for too long.... unless you go to a really well setup water injection system... if you...
GTSBruce - have you just sucked on a lemon or are the hemoriods playing up again?
Heads flowing 340cfm are GREAT NEWS for the Viper community - hopefully they do not lose too much velocity. The potential power gains here are huge with the right combo!
They'll compliment all motor road...
Re: How strong is the bottom end and pistons of the Gen 3 \'05 for BOOST
"IF" being the operative word - and Dan Cragin is one of 3 Viper tuners in the whole country I'd trust to do a creampuff or stock SRT10 - good choice.
The other point is this - the Paxton uses the stock intake so does not...
Re: ..........HEFFNER\'S 8.75 PASS VIDEO!!!..........
Wow - that was crisp sounding - a perfect run. I definitely saved that one on the hard drive :2tu:
Very interesting thread.
NHRA/IHRA rules are NOT universal, and if the V10 Nats says over the PA that a break out loses - and you break out - you LOSE.... frame your timeslip and be proud of it - but get over it.
It has been my experience that at every track there is always one or two racers...
Re: HEFFNER\'S PERFORMANCE AND CHAD TAKE THE UNLIMITED CLASS!!!
Several people are going to want what you've got now Chad - so I guess that means you'll have to either be prepared to share the podium soon with all your clones (assuming they can drive too.... which will be a hard act in itself)...
Re: How strong is the bottom end and pistons of the Gen 3 \'05 for BOOST
haha - Chris the 6:1 was typical air plucking to make a point... I personally have never seen a successful cast piston SC Viper - but have HEARD there are a few. I've known of SEVERAL failures and watched one blow on the...
Re: How strong is the bottom end and pistons of the Gen 3 \'05 for BOOST
If you can't afford forged pistons - WHY would you consider supercharging unless you are going to keep the boost VERY low?
Kinda like buying a Vitec Honda engine but never spinning it onto its race lobes.
The bolt on...
re potential - I believe the modular V8 around which the GT engine is based - has run 7's in Mustangs... someone here may know. That was at 4.6 liters, not sure how strong the 5.4 is.
However - I also think the Viper could run 7's and be more dual purpose than the 7 sec Mustangs. That opinion...
LOL no he wouldn't - but your car was a good one, the 125mph speed on the GT is a SLOW ONE....
I beleive we will see MANY GT's with the simplest of mods running well into the 130's... a feat THAT does require a bit of money to do in a Viper :2tu:
arrmm
those would be slowest times I've seen for the GT. They took the limiter off and one ran 212mph in Europe. Several have run well into the 11's on the 1/4.
one tested at 10.8 @ 136mph... when that particular car was then tested at over 600rwhp, the Ford techs just gave a sheepish...
whatever comes of this - sounds like pressure needs to go on Shelby to BURY Roys business - the guy is just another SMUCK in an industry that already has too many.... we need one less - and its Roy.
Awesome - GM finally have shown their hand.
Don't expect DC to now lie down and die.... they simply know what it'll take now to stay ahead... more power is never going to be a problem from 505 cubic inches :2tu:
I also doubt the advances in adjustable engine management and the...
More seat time and a prepped track was all it took! Congrats to Chad and Jason - talk about smashing the records...
NO nitrous. Do you really think he needs it?
