Thanks Leslie, I'm going to try this at the next track day. Do you use it under your sills? The sills, for me, are the worst after a track weekend. :crazy2:
If Greg Good recommends using T&D then do it. That's what I did. Greg was pretty adamant about using T&D's or Jesel when I did his heads/cam. Something about the spring pressure, etc. and some other detailed engineering information that went over my head.
I use a used 2003 Sears Electric leaf blower to dry off the Viper. This reminds me that I have yet to paint it Yellow/Black stripes to match the Viper.
Call Chuck Tator first before doing anything: 914-763-3136. Chuck is in South Salem, NY but worth the drive. Let him inspect it and tell you what needs to be done. Might as well have Chuck go over the Viper while it's there. Chuck can also source the parts too. I'm not sure if he's back from...
The hangar is one thing to check. It could also be sitting lower than normal due to the way the resonator was welded to the pipe leading to the cat. If the angle is off it could be an issue...Difficult to say from the pic though.
Looks like OEM from the resonator on back. I had the Billy Boat exhaust and it had the same looking resonator and cats you have in the pic. With the BB, I had to modify the rear hangar bracket shown in your second picture. I ended up cutting them down, re-welding them and that lifted up the...
Post pics but based on your description this appears normal with stock cats. The insulation inside my side sill and on the frame behind the cat were darkened a lot due to the heat coming off of the cats. My side sill insulation also had 2 burn marks with one having hole burned through the...
In speaking with the Wizard, he told me to get the engine warmed up. I've let mine idle until my temp gauge is at normal temperature for me. Then I shut it off and let it cool a bit. I just want imagine working with a very hot engine and not stripping the spark plug holes. I'm paranoid about...
LOL, Chuck is trying to slow it down, LOL. :D Definitely looking forward to your monster build...I know how much you're craving the power and don't blame you for trading 'up' for more power.
My cats smoked too when I initially installed them. After a couple of start ups it stopped. The paper sticker residue on the cat smoked too. My entire exhaust smoked after I painted it with it VHT paint too. As long as flames aren't shooting out of the cats, you're good. :D
Thanks for the info Mark. Glad to see this package getting installed. Potential customers have been waiting for proof and it sounds like they're about to get it. With the VPA discount on the Mopar performance package...it seems like a good deal for N/A on the GenIII.
Porting the intake is an overall waste of money unless it's going to compliment other mods such as forced induction and/or heads+cam work. It's pretty expensive for an extrude hone intake job and the benefits may not be worth the extra money. If staying stock, I say don't bother porting the...
Tony is upfront about his pricing. And it does vary from customer to customer depending on what's being done, quality of the leather, etc. You definitely get what you pay for and I think it's well worth it. That yellow interior is absolutely stunning.
