    Misfire ?? Help Needed

And that 5 year old battery. I know you said it was cranking strong, but it is cheap insurance to replace it. If it isn't dead now, it will be soon. +1 on cleaning the injectors. Also, clean our your idle air control motor. That pesky thing sticking off the passenger side of the intake...

Gen IV Trans Swap into Gen III?

I did mine. It was cake. New tranny + driveshaft end piece from a gen4. Direct bolt in.

    Is $27.5 K for a 97' GTS a good deal?

So the dealer wants 27.5k... that means they paid under 24k for the car. You pulled the carfax, the smart thing to do would be to contact the previous owner. Look them up. Their name is on the carfax. Call them. Tell them you were looking at their car. Find out why they traded it in and...

Well it felt good. But so far i still get blank pages sometimes. ;)

    site performance

Unfortunately, there isn't a NO-SCRIPT equivalent for chrome. I don't have problems on any site OTHER than the VCA, though... and there are other forum boards that run the same software. Not sure if it is the same versions, though.

    site performance

Is it me, or is there an issue with site refreshes lately? Over the past 2-3 weeks, i've noticed that when a thread is opened, about 1 in 3 times, the page never loads and I have to F5 it. Granted, I use firefox most of the time but haven't made any changes to it. Same with SEARCH...

    Spotted a GTS-R(!!!) on Interstate 75 North...anyone here?

I know this will be hard to stomach, but it was actually a red 98. Well, it started out that way. It was built up by a local guy in 1999 to be a GTS-R. I have pics with my car and his when i had under 2k on the odometer. man that was a long time ago. Cool car, eh?

SRT Ram auto trans. in Viper

I've got a set of tools too and I work on transmissions too. It must be hard to believe that viper owners wrench on their own stuff. +1 for what Mark said EXCEPT for _some_ powerglides. you can get a glide to fit a gen II viper w/o modifying the frame.

    Headers on Creampuff

If you do the exhaust + headers, you may see that kind of gain. But if you keep the restrictive exhaust system, i've seen a 10hp loss below ~4000rpm along w/a 10hp gain over ~4000rpm. Let's not forget that more air OUT of the engine changes the ability to get air IN the engine. So the...

    Rebuild?..again?..help!!!

Do yourself a favor (and have your tuner do the same thing): Next time you get an engine back, do a leak-down and compression test in between tunes. It doesn't take much time and it will definitively tell you where/when problems occur. If DW did a leakdown _before_ he started tuning the car...

    Help won't start

Change the main computer? that's crazy-talk! The clutch pedal switch is often the culprit. If you get on your hands and look closely under the clutch, you'll see a slider on the rod underneath the pedal. It is green on a gen2. not sure on a gen3. anyway, if that sensor doesn't show that...

    Anyone know this car? (pics)

The coke bottle doesn't match. Total poser. A real owner would be drinking Mountain Dew.

    Roe TT

+1. A paxton takes 100-150 flywheel horsepower to spin the supercharger itself. 80-120 (appx) for a ROE). Turbos generate heat and the needs external oil lubrication whereas supercharges (some) need external lubrication. ROE doesn't. just some fun facts!

    Roe TT

Kudos to Sean for building a set-up like this. Very cool!

    Gen 2 fuel injectors

The stock 30lb high-impedance injectors aren't good for much more than the car already has. The fuel lines themselves, however, are good for around another ~150 or so hp (opinions will vary on this depending on NA, SC, etc...) from what you have now. ROE SC's use 55lb injectors for the big kit...

Changing Pistons an a 2000 GTS

Partially true. Engines are rebuilt in garages all the time. Brake Cleaner is an engine builder's best friend. That and WD40. And if there is dust or other 'stuff' that is in your motor when you run it, it comes out in the oil filter, oil pan catch, etc... Put another way, rebuilding viper...

Changing Pistons an a 2000 GTS

If your new pistons+rods weigh the same as your old ones, then you don't need to remove the block for a full balance job. As for honing the cylinders, just get a ball-hone and create a nice cross-hatch for 20-30 seconds. your rings will re-seal with no problem. just don't scuff the crank when...

Did you check the fuse/relay panel that says "Fuel Pump Relay Inside Here"???

    GTS 2000 vs Paxton supercharger

Last I checked on the ROE heads, they were just stock castings with bigger valves and a valve job. I do not believe that he actually ports them. Someone else might be able to confirm.

    Metal shaving on drain plug!?!

Are you sure those are metal? they look more like paper... or fiberglass. Like the kind on the body of the vehicle.

    GTS 2000 vs Paxton supercharger

A perfect tune + a dumbass driver = a blown engine. With great power comes great responsibility. There is a reason that the factory doesn't bolt on a 7lb Paxton to a stock viper at the factory... and it isn't just cost reduction.

    GTS 2000 vs Paxton supercharger

And as long as you listen to your car. If you are the type of person who sees the gas pedal as an on/off switch, then a supercharger on a 2000 may not be for you. Sure it'll run good most of the time... but with cast pistons, the margin for error is small. good luck!!

    How to clean fuel tank?

RT/10 and GTS are different. RT/10 fuel tank removal is an absolute PITA. If you have one, i feel for you. If GTS, it is cake. which is it?

    Metal shaving on drain plug!?!

An occasional shaving is nothing to worry about. A bunch of them (more specifically, what looks like bearing material) is bad. you can always drop the oil pan to check your bearings if you are worried about it (not _that_ difficult), but it is probably nothing.
