    Great Products for your interior

In regards to your interior, there are two products Mopar makes that work very well. In the past I have found other products are "greasy" or leave a film. Satin Select Interior treatment PN 5174395AA This stuff works great on dashes and anything plastic or Vinyl Leather and Vinyl conditioner...

    Ported Intake Gen 4

We did quite a bit of testing on the Gen 4 manifolds, we tried numerous things including welding, reshaping the ports and shortening the runner length. We dyno tested all these options and found a point of diminishing returns. There was a point were we gained hp and lost torque. The biggest...

$209 Full Service Oil Change at the Dealer?

Expect to pay $120 to $140 for an oil change. You can save some on the oil if you by it on sale, but most dealers are paying 6-7 dollars a quart so the resale it for about 9 dollars a quart. You need to use the factory oil filter as this Viper specific filter has a oil relief valve that is not...

    '08 Tuning

There currently are no tuning options for the Gen 4 Venom computer. Mopar does offer a performance computer that works well with bolt on modifications and ported cylinder heads. For boosted or highly modified engines, an aftermarket engine management system is needed. Motec, Pectel and Pro EFI...

    Modified horsepower posts

Speaking of Omni's. I worked for Dodge back in the days when they were cranking out K cars. I remember the when the little GLHS first came out, Dodge had a great Ad that stated "guess what ate the Z28", yep the Omni GLHS. I pumped one up to about 300hp, what a fun ride.

Greasing suspension parts, do gen3 viper have zerk fittings?

Yes, the upper and lower control arm ball joints have zerk fittings. Be careful you do not overgrease them or the grease can get on the brakes. Make sure you use grease with the NLGI designation of LB.

Steering rack leak - should I fix it now?

I have seen the seals go out all at once, I would replace the rack.

Left rear hub area makes a distinct "clink" under torque application

This noise is pretty common and most likely will come back. If you replace the splined yoke and bearing it will not happen again. I have never seen a failure because of this, but it is annoying. Things are going well for me, the new service facility will open in October and I will let everyone...

Who is interested in a Gen 2 adjustable coilover set for less than 1400

Great option, how do they compare in weight to the stock shocks? Will you you provide a rebuild service? Do you have a shock dyno graph? There is a market for these, have you considered doing the Gen 1 shocks as well?

Left rear hub area makes a distinct "clink" under torque application

This sounds like the "axle crack noise" that was a big issue on Gen 1's but also bled over to Gen 2's. The splines in the hub and snub axle are worn and shift making a crack noise only when you go forward or reverse. Changing the rear bearing should get rid of it, but you might want to replace...

    Liquid Gold??

The Castrol Syntorque is a great fluid, it holds up to extreme heat and reduces NGR. To be honest, Tremec uses ATF in most transmissions and only changed in the Viper because of the NGR. ATF 4 will work fine in the transmission, it will shift better but may have some NGR. ATF4 is used in the new...

    1996 RT/10 Head Bolts

From the pictures you have provided you have the early composite gaskets, where these taken before the work? Fill the system up and pressure test it. it may have just had air in it. The head bolts should not need a retorque.

How many miles before you should change the fuel filter? Not in owners manual ---

Re: How many miles before you should change the fuel filter? Not in owners manual -- No the Gen 1 and 2's have an external filter as described. Use some WD 40 on the connection and a pair of long needle nose plyers. It you really have an issue remove the wheel housing. There is also a filter...

Just got back from getting tuned, dissapearing fuel pressure at 4500 rpms

Be sure that a replacement intank module pump is the "siphon jet type" that fills up the bucket in the module. If not then you could run the bucket dry in a open road top speed test.
