You can get it out without removing the crossbrace, but it is much easier to do it with the brace out. Might want to change your thermostat at the same time.
The newer Viper T6060 2008-2015 uses ATF+4. It is an automatic transmission fluid but is now used in gearboxes and power steering systems for many Chrysler products. This thin oil is good for ease of shifting and it has a friction modifier
additive that improves shear strength.
From 1992-1997...
I was told by the Tremec guys that this fluid may not be compatable with the carbon blocker rings in the transmission, they suggested the 75w85 Syntorque, ATF+4 or BG Synchro Shift 75w80.
The regulators are hard to find, but they are still available at around $400 (crazy expensive), The regulator contains the check valve that keeps the fuel from draining back into the tank when you shut the engine off. Thats why you have a long crank time as the fuel needs to prime the line again...
You can get good sound out of the exhaust and make good power with the Catalyst, its bad for the environment to remove them, you get fumes in the car and smell like exhaust.
Change out the mufflers with a 16-20 inch Magnaflow and you will make plenty of noise. If your state allows aftermarket...
I like the Paxton kit, having worked with them on the development of the package years ago. It is CARB approved for the Gen 2 and can be upgraded quite a bit (depending on your year model). I have done about 80 of these kits, so I can offer good advice if you go that route.
Happy to help. I worked with Doug in that car years ago. Unitrax is the company to talk to. They have all the parts you need. Most likely you broke the posi, easy to replace or rebuild.

A good 80rwhp can be gained on the 1996-1999 models with simple bolt ons. The camshaft on these year models responds well to minor mods.
Back in the day, my 1996 GTS went from 400rwhp to 480rwhp with K&N replacement air filters, smooth throttle body inlet tubes, 1.7 ratio rocker arms, stiffer...
The M and M headers are a good option. They are a Belanger copy, made here in the USA. They do differ from the Belangers as they do not use an internal cone to direct the exhaust flow in the tri-y pipes. This is a trick Belanger took from the aircraft industry. Otherwise they seem to make good...
MAP based fuel injection systems use manifold vacuum and throttle position as its major factors to determine fuel and timing maps. Bigger cams lower engine vacuum at low speeds and take quite a bit of tuning to get right. If engine vacuum and throttle position readings do not corrospond...
Its interesting, I was recently was at an event with several of the SRT engineers, Dick Winkles, Mike Trost, Paul Berger and Paul Mackiewitz. They mentioned that when they were track testing the Gen 5 Viper they rented a new ZO6 to test as well.
They wanted to see how well the transmission and...
