We just tuned a 2006 SRT Coupe with a GG cam. Our goal going in was to put together a cost effective street package that would pass tailpipe emissions in Ca and make good power. Our target was 530rwhp. Being that this was a street project on a bugdet, we stuck with the stock heads and valves, a...
I have had lots of trouble with the replacement hoses and fittings, having multiple fail. You can buy aftermarket hoses for cheaper, that will never have an issue.
Most likely its the compressor and condenser o-rings that need to be replaced. Doug is correct. If the system has a major leak you need to replace the dryer, whenever doing any AC work the system must be evacuated to remove the moisture from the system, then charged.
Temps of 220-230 degrees in stop and go traffic with AC on are normal in warm weather. There are ways to make the car run cooler, but if it does not overheat (boil over) there really is not an issue. They removed the yellow on the gauge on the later Gen 1's as everyone was worried it would go...
Thanks Dan for the follow-up. We had 4 of these hoses-fittings fail in the course of one month. We contacted Chrysler, filled out the warranty return forms and asked for some sort of explanation. They just kept sending new parts with the same issue. We thought it might be the groove in the new...
Dan is right, we had numerous hose fitting failures when replacing these hoses. We ended up uses aftermarket hoses that do not use the disconnect type fitting.
Jon B is correct, those aluminum sport hoops on the Gen 3 do not offer good rollover protection. If you want to have protection for a rollover at speed you need to install a well engineered bar or cage that meets Motorsports requirements. SPT or many vendors here can offer that. For those...
I agree with bonkers, 95tq is as high as I go. The most important thing is that the the wheel studs are all tight and evenly torqued. I clean the threads on the studs and the mounting surface of the hub with a wire brush, then I put a small amount of lubricant on the studs (some disagree with...
We have custom heat shields made by ATP for the Gen 2. Very effective but expensive as they are Inconel alloy. The biggest change you can make for heat is getting some airflow through the side panels. We sell a really nice stainless side panel vent that reduces the heat $145.00 per set.
I am sure many of you have heard of horror stories about oil starvation on the Gen 3 engines, particulary when used on the track.
SPT is having a limited sale on Gen 3 competition oil pans and pickup assemblys. The articulating oil pickup swings to the oil location under high lateral g...
Hi Everyone,
We just removed a set of Belanger headers from a 2008 SRT for a client who needed to trade the car in on a lease. The system is complete with 6k miles. It includes the headers and turnouts with cats for hookup to the stock mufflers. All it needs is new cylinder head to header...
These new SFI certified engine balancers are approved for competition, wont crack or come loose under extreme conditions (SC Applications) and will not go out of balance. They feature a sealed outer ring with a captured elastomer dampening ring. They are keyed for performance applications and...
The car was tuned with the stock engine controller, using a SCT programmer to save 91 and 93 tunes. Other non SCT supported changes were made by my tuner Chris Jensen, who I have a long relationship with.
We recently finished a top end refresh on a previously built motor. Greg Good did the heads and cam. In the past I have been amazed at the amount of cylinder pressure and hp numbers from his combinations, compared to others we have used.
This Gen 3 has 10.55 to 1 compression. The cam is big...
It funny as I was moving cars out of the shop this morning, I thought it was pretty amazing that I could make a living working on the same car model for 22 years. Then I noticed I had the first and last sitting right next to each other. A 1992 RT/10 and a 2014 TA.
I hope to shoot another...
