    Shipping a 1996 GTS Open Carrier - Do's and Don'ts?

Cool Viper K! I'm neither buying or selling. I bot the NV Viper back in 2001 but live in PA. I have a good friend I have left the car with in NV. Unfortunately, the car needs work and it really doesn't get taken care of the best when sitting in NV. I thought about selling it in NV, but it...

    Shipping a 1996 GTS Open Carrier - Do's and Don'ts?

I got another spec from the haulers: 48" min space between the rear tires. I have a tire off but it looks like with 335/30r18's it is about 50" I have the Hennessey front fascia which really sticks out and is fiberglass - so it will not move out of the way. The OE spec for ground clearance...

    Shipping a 1996 GTS Open Carrier - Do's and Don'ts?

Yes, I know - Don't! But.... I'm finding some rates from NV to PA that are under $900 which is good. The main issue is that they say they need 4" of ground clearance for open carrier. I'm thinking I can simply raise the suspension to do this. Any other things I should worry about? PS. The...

Anyone use the Car Dealer Inter-Auction Transportation System to ship a car?

There is a transportation network that connects all the Dealer Auctions in the US. Car dealers use it and it is probably the cheapest way to ship a car. I'm trying my contacts currently, but it is taking a lot of time. So I was wondering if anyone has already done this and is the cost rock...

    Avoiding emissions testing...Leasing Company?

From what I have read, the OE 1996 PCM is the same as the Mopar Performance PCM - or some other factory performance PCM.

    Avoiding emissions testing...Leasing Company?

I guess the real question: Is it possible to program a readiness code? Like chancing the readiness test to the measurement of some parameter that is always above/below the pass/fail threshold.

DRBIII PEP Scope Leads mini coaxial connector: What style is it?

Yes, I've looked on ebay. Lots of cables but not the right ones. Mini/Micro Coax connectors have designations like: MCX, MMCX, SMP, SMPM, SMT, SSMA, SMA, SMB, SMC, .... I suppose I could find dimensioned drawings of the above and then measure the PEP ones and determine what PEP uses. I have...

DRBIII PEP Scope Leads mini coaxial connector: What style is it?

The cable slides over this tiny approximately 1/8" dianeter "stud" on the PEP module. It is actually a coaxial connection. The lead has this mini connector on one end and a male BNC on the other. I only have one lead and need another. QUESTION: Where to buy the DRBIII lead? I assume it...

    Avoiding emissions testing...Leasing Company?

My mods are heads, cam, exhaust, no cats. In PA all you have to do is show Readiness Codes - no tailpipe or dyno. And, being an early OBDII, they allow at least 2 failed Readiness. Who knows maybe all I need is a cat eliminator resistor. It might be trivial but I haven't had time to look...

    Avoiding emissions testing...Leasing Company?

That PA Collectible plate will apply to all counties. I don't like the one day a week rule. I was reading more and it seems that the engine or exhaust MUST be modified to get this designation: (I also don't like the idea that they "associate" the Collectible Vehicle with a Reconstructed one...

    Avoiding emissions testing...Leasing Company?

I have a modded Viper in NV where there is no emission testing. I want to take it to my PA home where there is emissions testing. I'm wondering if the following would work: Create a leasing company in NV. Title the car the car to the leasing company. Insure the car in NV. Then take the car...

Killed a 335/30ZR18 Pilot SX MXX3 - any chance to find a 50% used one???

I guess you don't want to hear about the 24 year old NOS Yokohama A008's that I ran down to the cords w/o incident or the set of 37 year old Uniroyal G78's that are still 75% on my factory supercharged R2 Super Lark. But I do know what you mean. I think the problem is that tire manufacturers...

Killed a 335/30ZR18 Pilot SX MXX3 - any chance to find a 50% used one???

I hate to toss a perfectly good 50% one and would like to find a used to replace the destroyed tire. Since I have a set of 4, buying a new set of rears, they would not match the fronts and I'm not going to buy a set of 4 just because I lost one tire. If I would replace the rears, I would sell...

Window Regulator: Failure: Plastic Block(Shuttle) Breakes: Replacements?

Wow, those are sure close to the Viper ones. I'm betting they can be used. Since they are for "ordinary" cars, they are cheaper and appear to be everywhere: http://www.amazon.com/RegulatorFix-Chrysler-Plymouth-MINIVAN-Regulator/dp/B00BT1GY8Q Need to see if any auto parts carry it such as...

Window Regulator: Failure: Plastic Block(Shuttle) Breakes: Replacements?

Has anyone tried the replacements that are showing up? They call them slide clips. My concern is that the replacement may not last either and at $55 a pop from one vendor, that's no bargain. If I had the mill, I carve one out of aluminum.

    I'm not hip, Daddy-O, but what's a "Dropout?"

I know the GM LS engines are "poured" into the K-member. But Viper with 2 old-school frame rails and no crossmembers in the way - do people take them out the bottom ??? (It never occurred to even consider that. Engines that go out the bottom are simply not worth working on in my book.)

    I'm not hip, Daddy-O, but what's a "Dropout?"

I know, its frustrating. Just do an eBay search for "dropout engine" and there are 78 out there right now and most are Viper, then Corvette, but all pretty much high end engines. I also found the "Complete Dropout" variant of the term too. While I have no information at all, I'm thinking a...

    I'm not hip, Daddy-O, but what's a "Dropout?"

What does it have to do with Vipers? Well it turns out that most all the complete Viper engines on eBay are "dropout" engines. I don't like the sound of the word - it never meant anything good in the past and I don't expect it to mean anything good in the future. I would never buy a "dropout...

    too fat to fit

Also read a number of places that weight is not the solution. First it varies with height - the proper weight that is. But it is optimum waste size which is independent of height (!) For men it is <35 and women <30. Studies found that people with good BMI actually had larger wastes and more...

    too fat to fit

Oh Brother, I, myself , am on the edge of too much girth! I've plotted my weight since I was a teenager using all available data and at 60, the plot is a straight line from 145 to 305. Anyhow, for comparison purposes, waist size really determines if you fit or not. I maxed out at 50" but...

    Battery Cover Panel Screw Sizes

Ah, a push pin! Never thought of that. I found what looked like a 1/4" self tapping machine screw with a flange head and it seemed to tap just fine. There was a lot of mismatch in mine and I hope the screw does not crack that tab on the battery panel. Maybe when I'm in NAPA I'll find a nice...
