A Viper for the Ill-informed Public

Don't the Viper brochure/website list the HP,Torque, tire sizes, performances, etc? What else do you need to be an "educated" buyer? May be a brochure telling you to use your brain? Should the lack of TC (traction control)not be reflected in the way you drive the car? Should a posted 30mph sign...

A Viper for the Ill-informed Public

Interesting thread, but the ultimate responsibilty is with the driver. A brochure/warning stating that a 500hp car with no TC could be more of a handfull to drive than a 250hp car with all the "nanny aids"? If you need someone to tell you that, you should also have to wear a sign that state...

    Fog light switch (rear)

The switch look exactly the same than the "regular" one and has a bunch of numbers: G952A 13096/097 13102/104 95BG 11654 You should be able to get it from any Jeep dealer,it's what I did in the US

    Fog light switch (rear)

    Fog light switch (rear)

I will post the part # tomorow when I get to the office. The nice thing when you wire it "correctly" using the factory "export" switch is that the rear fog light icon in the instrument cluster will work since it's already there on all Vipers (at least on GenII) Luc.

    Fog light switch (rear)

You can get a factory headlight switch with the built in rear fog lamp function. as the "regular" switch it's made by Ford and I can give you the part # if you want. Luc.00GTS PS: I wanted to add rear fog lights on my car, so I got the switch, but never finished this project.

    Extended Warranty Question

keep in mind that since you have a 3/36 "bumber-to-bumper" warranty, you are paying for the extra 4 years/14,000 miles only. Also if the viper still has a 7/70 drivetrain limited warranty, the engine, as mentionned by Steve, will be covered under it. I'm with SnakeEye on this one,Especially...

CRAIG - your days are numbered!

Rocket62 You must have way too much time on your hands to worry about such things. as for "negative posters", since the Viper is NOT a perfect car, a negative poster could be a honest poster. Luc.00GTS

any one know of a good battery tender for winter storage?

I have about 15 vehicles on Harbor Freight float chargers for the last 4/5 years and not a single problem. Luc 00GTS... and a few more toys.

The Vipe and the new Tow Vehicle (PICS)

    WINDSHIELD REPLACED NEXT WEEK

I had mine relaced when the car was brand new (was leaking badly) and beside watching the guy doing it, I masked beforehand, with masking tape, the roof, side pillars, the inside frame and the headliner all around the edge. Glad that i did since there was quite a lot of black sealer on the...

Preparing my Viper for the track...??

The top 2 "problems" with a stock Viper on a track are brakes and cooling/overheating. Luc.00GTS

How important is ABS to you? Worth the extra $ for an 01-02?

Bernard: At least your Viper is not a garage/queen/track virgin like mine!!!! Seriously, I can understand that someone will feel more "at ease" driving a Viper with ABS but stats show that the #1 reason for Viper crashes is not the result of non-ABS brakes but rather poor control of the...

How important is ABS to you? Worth the extra $ for an 01-02?

IMHO, ABS,or traction control,or paddle/sequential electronicaly controled gear box,etc don't belong on a race car. There is no doubt that all those driver's "band aid" will make the car cut shorter lap time but it's also why most of racing (F1 is a good example) is becoming so boring. Was a...

Will fellow Viper owners join me in helping the kids of South Asia?

LIRacer: "..I don't care about you.." "..you are irelevant..." You're repeating yourself a lot, your previous posts made it plenty clear that you live in your little egocentric world. "..more fun to run your a$$ off the track.." Not only you're an egocentric elitist but on top of...

Will fellow Viper owners join me in helping the kids of South Asia?

LIRacer: Beside being a fellow viper owner, I also happen the be a long time SCCA National Competition License holder and I'm sorry to say that, due to your opinion, and disregard for the value of human life, or more exactly your elitist attitude of valuating human life on a diferent scale for...

Will fellow Viper owners join me in helping the kids of South Asia?

I'm shocked too by most of the posts on this thread, mixing up politics, religion, war and standard of living with a natural disaster is wrong. They are human beings in dire need of help and the life of a little kid from Indonesia has as much value than the life of an VCA member. Luc.00GTS

    Viper Days changed 2005 schedule!

I run a club in northern California (NCRC.ORG) and I can tell you that Track scheduling is not the easiest thing, you just dont ask for a date and get it. The way it work is that the track give you a list of dates AVAILABLE FOR YOU and you choose which one(s) you want. Obviously, big...

How much value did I lose?

If you have a choice between a car that was in an accident and was properly repaired and another one that was never damaged, why will you choose the damaged/fixed one? You know the answer and it's why you lost some value. Luc.00GTS

What is the problem with Gen I and II Vipers??

Dirk: I agree with you regarding the GT engine. They should have put one of the new Shelby 427 aluminum engine. Obviously the used the 351 supercharged to by-pass the emission/cerification issue since this engine combination is already approved. Luc.00GTS

    Help with callipers PLEASE

lance: Im metric, size go by full mm, you have nothing between 17 and 18mm, may be you can put some aluminum foil around the bolt head to take some of the clearance and use the 18mm wrench/socket. They are supposed to be torqued to 85lbs/Foot (almost like a wheel lugnut)so they could be pretty...

Creating a list to send to Santa--Need advice on some aftermarket parts

I could be wrong but I really doubt that this air box will add 30HP. It had been said many times on this board that the hood duct in not located at a high pressure zone,so I really doubt that you will get 30hp worth of ram effect. Furthermore,to test the idea you could seal the duct to the...
