    While messing with my GoPro...

My in-laws live in Lubbock, so I get to cruise down there now and then. Texas has a lot of nice roads like that. Really boring in a regular car at the speed limit. If you can avoid the cops, those roads are great for getting into the north end of the speedometer. -(just to see if the needle will...

Track Attack #3 (Mosport), #4 (Mont-Tremblant)...and 2400 mile road and track report

Re: Track Attack #3 (Mosport), #4 (Mont-Tremblant)...and 2400 mile road and track rep Excellent write up and awesome driver attitude. I think the best drivers are the ones who are always trying to improve and learn how to 'do it better'. -rather than the ones who think they are fast and know...

    Viper GTS vs 991 Turbo-S

Exactly. Been hanging with P-car guys lately (driving with them in their HPDE events). This makes me realize how they feel about my car, and how I feel about their cars. There seems to be a mutual respect for the most part, but with a sense of confusion at the same time. I look at them and...

Does anyone have a heads cam N/A stroker car?

I can't imagine why you would want/need more stroke. Gen III motors are already 3.96 stock. That's just a hair under 4 inches. That is pretty extreme if it's left alone. Why mod something that's already full-blast?

Made the Leap to a Gen V took it to the track

That is totally awesome of you. :2tu: I'm just still freaked out at all the Stryker Reds getting on the track, let alone with a newbie driving it. :omg: I guess with the new cars having ESP (hope that was left on with that guy), I suppose if no one else hits the car..........

Made the Leap to a Gen V took it to the track

You have a Stryker Red, and let somebody who hasn't driven on a track before, drive your new monster at an HPDE with other cars around in a novice group with other inexperienced drivers next to him? :omg:

    Viper GTS vs 991 Turbo-S

They didn't need to do any track tests. One guy was speeding on the highway, the other did a bunch of burnouts. That is more conclusive than any 'track testing'. Also, one car was red, and the other car was a different shade of red. -neither analyst brought that up, kind of dis-credits the...

Great experience with Roe Racing, American Racing Headers, Woodhouse Motorsports!

I also have dealt with Roe. Have the SCT and single blade throttle body as well. They are definitely in the group of 'good vendors' to do business with. :)

Looking for a real test drive within a few Hrs of NYC. Swap with my Porsche?

Hmmmm, if you can live with an Elise as a driver, the Viper will seem like a cruise ship in comparison. Vipers actually have an interior. As the new P-car is probably nice, designed and built for 'nice people', the Viper is not nice. It is an engaging experience that will be life changing. You...

    Air Conditioning Compressor Question

You can do that with no problem. Driving the car with an empty system won't hurt anything. Even if you try to turn the A/C on, the compressor clutch won't engage with an empty system because of an open low pressure switch. Don't forget to add oil to the new compressor, as most are shipped dry...

    ACR racing harness

If you are looking for a helmet, I assume you've never done this before. If that is correct, you will need an instructor. Absolutely no amount of aggressive street driving, going triple digits on the highway, or street racing will prepare you for what is to rock a Viper on the racetrack. Don't...

not feeling real good about my 01 RT/10

I think the market may have bottomed out for most of the older Vipers. How much worse can it get? You gen II guys are around that 30-40k mark, most gen III guys are around the 32-48k range depending on condition and mileage, and gen IV cars seem to still be up there at 55k plus, depending on...

not feeling real good about my 01 RT/10

So you paid 45k to have a car that will provide you with experiences that are priceless.:2tu: Very good deal if you are driving the car and enjoying all it has to offer. If it's just sitting in the garage as an investment, and you're more concerned with it's monetary value than 'how long the...

    Waterpumpfault with Metalimpeller?

Mine hasn't yet on my Viper, but we see it a lot on other makes/models of regular cars that use plastic impellers on pumps. BMW, Ford, VW, Audi, are the ones that come to mind the most. Not always the easiest to diagnose. Sometimes you find them only half broke with overheating symptoms under...
