Coupe or Vert - Any track restrictions?

If you are shopping for a trackday car, get a coupe. Plain and simple. Nothing against verts, but this way there's no worries about any particular club's or track's rule about what type of bar you need.

Picked up a different kind of beast...

Guys like you, with cars like this, are a problem for the rest of us at the track. We have to watch our mirrors, and then get out of the way so you can go by. I have been on track with quite a few different GT-R's (one of the clubs I run with is Nissan based and is sponsored by a dealership that...

Picked up a different kind of beast...

Very cool, if you like that sort of car. I have tons of respect for them, and think they are great technical marvels. They are unbelievable performers, .....but I just personally don't favor them. ..........If they looked more sexy, like a 458 Italia or something like that, I'd probably want...

[Video] About 2 dozen Vipers Accelerating

I don't like the looks of that one as much. The Camaro tail lights just ruin it for me.

    AC Coolant sticker?

It should be R134a. If the sticker is gone, the system refrigerant is identifiable by the type of service ports. R134a service ports are different than R12 service ports.

Anyone else have a problem keeping their bumper nice?

eh, mine is thrashed with the usual sand blasting from tracking the car, following other cars too close before passing them. Have hit dozens of stupid tumbleweeds, but never had any damage from them. Have gone weed whacking with the car many times, but lucky to have no damage from that.

    Speed o

Nothing. The speedo input comes from the ABS module from the wheel speed sensors. The rear gear won't matter like it does for cars that get the speedo input from the tranny.

Aluminum Undercarriage Tray - Keep on or off?

Dude, that belly pan is an important part of the car concerning aerodynamics. The rear diffuser connects to it, and without the pan in front of it.........well................:crazy2: At over 150, I would think bad things might happen. :nono:

    Tire Pressure & Handling

Mr. 05, Would you agree that even a cool down lap is more intense than aggressive street driving? (cornering grip wise of course) Even throttle-off coasting around the corners on cool down is way faster than any 'street terrorist drivers' would imagine as a controllable feat.

    Tire Pressure & Handling

Wow. :omg: I'm in 05's camp on this one. :smirk: I am still rolling in my old gen III, so I plead unfamiliar with the 'advanced driving dynamics' of the gen V. I do run a little more pressure in the fronts at the track. 32f / 30r cold, Hoosier R6. With street tires / street...

$99 Track day @ Willow Springs- Streets of Willow May 10th-11th

That is killer. We don't ever have deals like that here in Colorado. ....Well, there is 'customer appreciation day' at HPR, which is a free track day for anybody that paid regular price for any lapping day that year. Bummer is, that it is held between Christmas and New Year's Day. -even the...
