Modded Gen V vs Modded C7Z06...

I love it. :headbang: I am old school by the current car standards, I guess. Have a gen III Viper, and a 2009 Z06. Both cars are killer and close in performance, but the Viper is just a little more brutal. It looks like the performance gap between the two is the same with the new versions...

    Rollingthunderz

What? this seems like only half of a conversation  Is rollingthunderz a tuner shop, an aftermarket parts supplier, an HPDE track day club, a mixed car club, or a local gang? Or........a taco stand in Mexico? ........sounds like a roller derby team.......with fat girls. what...

    2015 Dodge Viper DNA Documentary

No kidding. I was at the Chevrolet dealership,...........looked at a few of the new Stingrays. Unbelievable amount of orange peel texture in the paint. All of them had it. That's how they sell them so cheap. Yes, the interior quality is much improved. And it's a great performing car, but I...

    Front Wheel Bearings

When you lift the front of the car, grab the wheel and can feel any movement whatsoever -besides rolling the wheel. Not a big wear item for street driven cars. Track cars with lots of negative camber makes the bearing roll with a constant lateral load. Constant hard cornering with high temps...

    Front Wheel Bearings

Unitized hub assembly. 2 sets of caged ball bearings in a sealed unit. Hub, bearing and housing already pressed together ready to bolt in. No grease or adjustment required. High price is due to low volume production from low demand. Hub assembly is specific to the front of this vehicle, and...

    leaking struts in TA models

Yeah..........like, WOW. :omg: How can these cars be having all these issues? I hammer the crap out of my gen III. Aside from the stupid steering line, anything else that has broken has been my fault. The Viper seems to be almost bullet proof and way overbuilt. Have had a few Corvettes, and...

    Front Wheel Bearings

Actually, I think I do................just have to get to it in my pile of junk. I'll find it today and post later. My car is an 06 also.

Another rod bearing failure. This one was bought back by Chrysler!

.............The new Viper is apparently not much improved technologically from the earlier versions. :( Most higher-end Euro cars have no Neanderthal designed 'dipstick method' for checking the oil, and have a display in the dash for checking the oil level. They also have much more...

    Website?

Seems to happen this time of year................every year. Kind of like the off-season. Vipers don't go in the snow, and they don't like the cold. It's no fun having to baby the car around on cold roads, and driving on all the sand / road salt when there isn't snow sucks too. -Vipers and...

Drag Strip Test - C7 Z06 vs Hellcat vs Viper vs ZR1

    New Owner ACR-X

50 ACR-X's made in 2010. Raced in VRL. Factory built race cars, not street legal. I have seen 2 in person at a track event. -they were the only cars that passed me that day. These are not regular Vipers. They make regular production ACR's look slow. An ACR-X ran a 7.03ish at the N'ring when the...

Black 5 spoke wheels and tires for sale with Invos

.......................so, if you're selling something off your car, it's worth it's weight in gold. But if somebody else posts something for sale, they are way out of line with the asking price? :dunno:

Bad Viper Crash North Miami Beach

Although it is tragic to see this kind of thing happen, It is good for a lot of us to be exposed to the potential of the nightmare accidents that can happen with these cars when we 'think we got it'.

Suggestions on smoothing out ride on a 2008 ACR

TowDawg was tracking his Viper on a regular basis. Due to the cost of supporting a track Viper and the risk of damage to the car, he has since bought a purpose built race car to track now. I am stupid and still have my Viper set up as a dedicated track car. If I were smart, I'd get a cheaper...

    Viper vs new Z06

Yes. truth be told, neither car would be at the performance level that they are at without each other's existence. The competition and rivalry between the two is the reason both cars are killer.

    Brake Upgrade? Need serious recommendations

I have tried a few different combinations and have settled on Mintex front/Brakeman#4 rear for pads. Stoptech aero-rotors, and steel braided lines are a must for a track car. For the gen III and later, you don't need any kind of 'brake kit', just upgrade the components. The stock calipers are fine.
