I completely understand your reluctance regarding that thought process... BUT, entirely different crowd I assure you :2tu:
There are plenty of Porsches from GT2's & 3's and TT's and boatloads of Corvettes along with the civics and wrx's and to tell you the truth Vipers are not expected...
Boy I hope to see you guys drag some more snakes out to autocrosses!
We just brought our SRT10 Viper out for the first time the last couple weekends and it kisked ass winning ASP at the SCCA San Deigo National Tour AND the Fontana Pro Solo even ending up as Top Qualifier for the Event...
Hey WF,
there is a guy in your area that has a GT2 who runs in a class called ASP at the local SCCA (sports car club of america) event named Alan Patterson we ran into weekend before last at a National Autocross Event in San Diego.
Contrary to what people might think these hot rods do quite...
Oh hell that's easy! :D
The hot setup for that car is 335/35x17 on a 13" in the rear and 315/35x17 on a 12" in the front like a 800# front & 900# rear spring life should be pretty good unless you have big brakes up front then run the 315/35x18 on a 12" front and keep the same as above...
Well shoot Truman, why didn't you just say you needed some help? I'd like nothing better than to help you get that hot rod up to speed with some KUMHO V710 stickeys and a setup that'll work well... :2tu:
Tell me about your ITE car and let's talk about what we can do to make it faster...
I guess there are a few guys that still run Hoosiers, we don't see too many of them... We kinda wish more guys did run 'em though ;)
Well ok... Maybe you should check in with The Tire Rack I think you'll find that the V710 is/has always been less expensive than the AS/RS302/3/4/5 etc...
In order of importance my suggestion would be as follows:
* Roll Bar
* 5 point harness
* Comp Coupe swinging oil pickup/pan
* Aluminum flywheel
* Club Sport Motons
* Forgeline ZX3R Track Wheels 18x13 (r) & 18x11 (f) w/KUMHO's, Michelins if ya
can't get the KUMHO's
* CORSA Track...
Hmmmm... Maybe I should apologise... :confused: The first time I heard the term Clown Shoe I laughed my ass off and loved it at the same time as I thought it was very fitting but never thought of it as a slam, just clever... I kind of use it as a term of endearment like I used to call my...
I guess maybe if I clarify what I meant by that I might not come under further attack?
What I mean by that comment WF was the fact that I really honestly love the styling of all 3 Gen cars! Hard to believe but I swear on my momma's grave I do! :headbang:
I sold the 97 to get a car with ABS...
Hey I have no dog in this fight cuz I really love all three Gens, we just race the latest and greatest cuz, well, it's the latest and greatest aint it... ? ;)
But a point of reference here gang on the Corvette comparison, I have read DD's posts with great interest as he is certainly a man of...
Thanx for the kind words Truman, although we live eat breathe and burn rubber on KUMHO's it is very likely they would be coming up with more Viper sizes anyway. The KUMHO V700 Ecsta's have been very well received by the Viper community and I think everybody is very ready for the new Viper sizes...
Thanx for puttimg that up Greg,
the new hot rods seem to be doing well right out of the box with Cindi putting hers on pole at Cal Speedway first time out and the second car netting a win and new track record at Willow Springs last weekend! :headbang:
The Dean Ackerman/sbw design graphics...
I don't know what to think about your smoke situation but the "loud POP" and then the car coming out of gear I would be 90% sure it is the dreaded yet very rare and unsettling occurance in these beautiful SRT10 hot rods called "Driver Error" :buttkick:
Seriously, what happens a lot of times...
I have a set of JRZ Doubles for a GTS we only had on the car for about 6 months on an autocross car (which won a national championship btw..) I will sell for $3k with springs!
sbw :usa:
Hey Matt,
I really don't know how the pricing compares to the HRE's but to answer the other question, we used an 18"x12" on the front and a 18"x13.5" rear both full polish ZX3R on the ASP Solo Mamba and then we opted for 19x9 front & 20x11 rear on our teamates C5 Roadster chrome lip with...
The FORGES<font color="red">LINE</font> ROCK! :nana: (imo)
We use them exclusively on our racecars for their durability and performance (read lightweight & low MOI) and their awesome style is a nice side benefit :D
This is what the new race wheel we will run this year on our SRTC...
Thought some you guys might get a kick out of this, I know we did! :2tu: Of course we might be a bit prejudice eyeing those two awesome lookin Silver NayKid Racing SRT10 Vipers in the display :nana:
Turns out our Dodge guys won "Top Overseas Stand" for thier presentation! :2tu...
Just wannted to extend in invite to anybody in the Phoenix area to stop by and watch us battle some Corvettes on track.
We'll be at PIR this weekend to kick off the SCCA T1 season in our #3 KUMHO Tire SRT/Dodge Motorsports Forgeline Wheel Viper to begin our defense of the T1 South Pacific...
I gott chime in here too...
We unloaded our all black SRTC Saturday morning from Woodhouse Auto Family where Bill Pemberton(thx billy) made a nice smoothe transaction for us and drove it home earning quite a bit more attention than I expected... :eek:
This hot rod easily gets as much...
yes
Not true, the rotating mass has been lightened so once the clutch is fully engaged the entire car will accelerate at a quicker rate... That is why road racers want the lightest rotating mass they can get so they don't waste any energy in trying to spin up a heavy flywheel, they want all...
It's actually pretty simple,
consider it like when you were a kid and you went to give your little sister a ride on the merry-go-round, you know, the big steel one...? Remember how hard you had to work, how much leg it took to get that thing up to rotating speed and then when she got scared...
Just my $.02 but...
I wouldn't bother with the sensors for the track wheels as you should be in the habit of carefully monitoring tire pressures when you are at the track with a proper gauge before and after each session anyway... :smirk:
The Forgelines are the best choice for weight savings...
There is no question about this, depending on your POV which is better... IMO I will take an SRT any day of the week because you can get in and out of a gas station without getting mugged before they figure out what it is... ;)
If your thing is getting mugged and having teenage and twenty...
