The S in MSRP stands for "Suggested" retail price. Dealers are free to charge what the market bears. I have no issue with people who want the car so bad they are willing to spend more than MSRP.
On the flip side, when the newness wears off and you can get 10-20K off sticker, I would not think...
I agree. I did the dynamat thing on my 01 GTS to quiet down the drone of a Borla, event put extra mufflers on it, finally ditched it and went with a Corsa. Sounded great after that.
I just took a peek at the spec sheet, looks like a nice option indeed.
I guess the main reasons that would discourage me from adding that option are the following:
1)If there is really an issue in not letting the tires drop below 32 degrees when the car is stored - I live in the northeast w/o...
Mr. Smog Dog,
Thanks for the clarification. I did not see your reply, but thanks. Instead I saw a later post from garetjax1 reply first which said what it was, but did not say it was included with the GTS package so I responded that I would like those features.
Any how, this is just fun...
My last Viper was an 06 Coupe GTS Blue. My garage is empty and waiting to next spring to figure my next purchase. At this point, this would be what I would order:
[G] Model: (S)RT / (G)TS
Common Options:
[S] Color: (B)lack, (A)drenaline Red, Bright (W)hite, Race (Y)ellow, (S)hadow Blue Pearl...
My guess is the Vette is pacing the Indy 500 instead of the Viper is that Chevy, Honda, and Lotus are engine suppliers to the series. Or at least announced to be engine suppliers while Chrysler does not participate in Indycar racing.
Would love to see the Viper pace the 24 hours of Lemans this...
Agreed, I think it is fantastic that SRT cared enough about the Viper to develop this car so quickly after their reorganization. Aluminum doors, carbon fiber body, great interior, less weight, and with a nice bump in HP.
I guess when they get around to direct injection we will see another...
I like the whole package, it met and or exceeded my expectations. My garage is empty, waiting for the reveal of the Vette is January then make a descision for my next .Based on the spy photos/redurings of the Vette, I am definitely leaning toward the Viper right now. Overall, great job SRT.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The wait is killing meeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the side exhaust. I thought my stock 2006 sounded great although many thought it was not loud enough. I really did not like the drone of my Gen II GTS and thought the 2006 sound was a big improvement.
I give it two thumbs up! There is no mistaking this for anything else but a Viper. Especially my favorite stying cue, the Gen II type doors where they taper into the front fender. I can't wait to see the real thing.
This was my formula.
I started off as an engineer out of college. I talked to many business people and discovered what higher paying jobs existed and just positioned myself to do what they do. You have to be honest with yourself in terms of what you are interested in doing(you need passion)...
Here are some notes I posted a few years back when I installed it on my 06:
Ok,
Finally finished the job and it actually works. It was a lot more work than I thought it would be to put it in but it does work quite well. On long trips I will definitely be glad I installed it.
Two clicks on...
Here are some comments I made about the install back in 05/06 on my 06 Coupe. All in all a good product that is not that easy to install.

Not sure what year you have, I had a 2001 GTS which I bought with a Borla exhaust on it. The drone was horrible. After trying to add extra mufflers and x pipe on the borla system, I installed a Corsa and was very happy. Not loud, but great sound and little to no drone. It will never sound like a...
