Whats it worth...'01 Sapphire/Silver stripe GTS

My mistake then! I could have sworn the shop manual said that they were metal, but mine (from Canada) had a plastic one with a 'made in Canada' sticker on it. I assumed that was due to it crossing the border. Either way, new billet bracket and pulley are a must.

Whats it worth...'01 Sapphire/Silver stripe GTS

I love the color combo! :D Take another look at those rear tires ... the new Power Sports weren't produced for the 18" rear wheels (assuming stock sizes). Look for cracks in the arm rest/tranny tunnel cover ... the Gen II's are notorious for this. There is a fix, but it's just one more thing...

    What about your Gen2?

My '01 GTS does not have a shift light ... only the skip shift indicator which is a white upward arrow until you get high enough RPM in 1st gear. Also, my alarm status light is on top of the dash, not on the back of the mirror.

    Gen-1 throttle body sync clarification

Gen II may be a 'locked system' with only one cable, but it still has the ability to adjust the right TB with relation to the left. I'm having the problem with my not being stable when I push in the clutch when slowing down for a stop. It 'seeks' all over the lower range until down to about 10...

2002 GTS Final Edition Rebuild COMPLETE

If you're still looking for a stock Gen II intake box, PM me. I was just looking at mine that I did away with a few years ago and thinking that someone might want to go back to stock. I have 'smooth tubes' to go with it (also just sitting in the garage taking up space).

    Avatar

Good Lord, Guys, quit whining about it! The guidelines haven't changed in years, so don't blame things on the 'new' management. The board is here for you to use and abuse, but if you want to have your avatar and rights to the restricted sections, you pay for that extra ability.

My Observations about VCA - This is NOT Good

+1 It seems that there are many on the VCA boards that have no intention of rebuilding the club or trying to help fix it. I think there are other places for them to go. The Alley doesn't like the VCA ... how about over there?

What are the VCA plans for events etc. for 2014?

Guys, can't you see when you are being 'trolled'? If the answer is with the VOA, then let members, or in this case non-members, go and join or troll on the VOA site. As far as I'm concerned, those that don't step up and offer to help fix something are a part of the problem.

Replacing power steering pump pulley and bracket, should i do the lines too?

For those that want to do it instead of paying someone, the lower bolt is a biatch to get out. Remove your air box and tubes into the intakes (a couple of bolts and hose clamps) ... remove the power steering cooler bolts and lower it down out of the way (two torx bolts). The top two bolts are...

    Personal VCA Renewal Decision

Well stated Chuck and very well thought out. I, for one, will be working towards that same reformation from 'West of the Mississippi' and I, too, am committed to coming out of this as a stronger club. Mike

BBG Dual Disc Clutch install and reivew

I've been running Toddy's BBG Stage II clutch for over a year and absolutely LOVE IT. I got a kick out of the notes he puts on the clutch/flywheel parts to help in the assembly. Quality product from a top notch vendor.

Kurt, The pictures are really pretty, but the high def color correction for the sapphire paint is thrown off a bit.

    Feeling Guilty

Sorry for your loss, but Cowboy will never hold it against you ... perhaps the below will help. (Warning: Do NOT read if crying out loud would embarrass you) The Rainbow Bridge There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because...

Center console hot to the touch!

The DBB console wedge helps the rear of the console from getting hot and strengthens it. In this particular case, it's probably the rubber boot. I repaired mine with gaffers tape over a year ago and that's still holding up. It was meant to be a temporary fix, but considering the longevity of...

    Southwest Zone Rendezvous

Due to some family complications, I was worried about signing up with SRT for the ALMS weekend. I called SRT and talked with Kim about the logistics for the weekend. She told me that the car corral has a maximum registration of 50 cars. Guess I'll send in my registration and hope for the best...

How long do Michelin super sports last (age wise)?

Mine never last more than a year! BUT, I run track days and autocross on my street tires. I get rid of them as soon as they start to lose their grip after warmed up. I know, it's expensive, but after riding crotch rockets, I learned to appreciate knowing what the tires could deal with. If...

    Question for GTS Owners

For temps above 100, I agree with the above for my '01 GTS. That's only if it's sunny out ... if cloudy and that hot it works OK. Always OK for 1 person, but sharing the limited vents with 2 people can be a challenge.

    Throttle hanging/hunting....

GEN II: Reviving an old post to add some positive results. I checked all of the above and yes, the performance PCM tune was the beginning of the problems. I went into the tune settings and there wasn't anything there that I could see causing a problem. I replaced my IAC valve, cleaned my TPS...

Beautiful day for a Viper meet up!

The weather was great and the wine stops were fun. In Texas, we take what we can get with the weather and it couldn't have been much nicer. Interesting point ... not a yellow Viper in the whole bunch! Hmmmm, maybe they were all in the repair shop?

New Project, Headliner pocket sag fix

Same problem on my '01 GTS ... for a while! After studying the pocket and realizing that the whole headliner had to be removed to get it off, I took a different tack. Went and got some black elastic (1/2") at the fabric store and threaded up a short curved needle with black thread. I...

Best way to keep GEN 2 rims clean and shiny?

I went to ceramics on the front and EBC reds on the back. The dust problem is almost totally non-existant. A word of warning though, this setup needs to warm up when you first take off before it has maximum stopping power.

    Gas Pedal Blues

Just 'a spring' won't do. The shape of the spring is very odd! You're going to need to replace with OEM either from a dealer or salvage yard. Also, you may as well go ahead and spend the time finding the correct diameter and length of bolt. I cut my bolt down to fit, but if you do that...
