I do what Steve does but messing around with the plug at the bottom of the radiator is a little freaky too. That area is so weak you risk breaking something. I have a good amount of antiseeze so mine now comes off easy.
Many swear by simply dropping the bottom radiator hose and not messing...
I was reading an old post. Cal Cobra has a 96 RT/10 and he says his wasn't blowing cold air and a peek at the sight glass window shows it's pretty empty.
Where is this sight glass window?
I had to remove the plugs to change the headgaskets but I would never do it for just a flush. What a pain. I had to remove the starter to get at one of them.
If I was just changing fluid, I would flush multiple times with distilled water and leave the plugs alone.
If I insisted to remove the...
I bought one from Napa, intended to use it on the connection to remove intake, ended up not using it because I was able to unscrew at intake. I can get the part number tonight. Only about $15
1995 with 5K miles. First time I've turned on A/C in over a year. Used it last year once and it worked. Doesn't blow cold air.
Service Manual doesn't give any help here. Is there a gauge to check freon level? What are the troubleshooting steps?
When turning the switch to the air position...
Roe Racing, Archer Racing, PartsRack are going to be good sources for you. Check out the forum supporters. Call ViperDays too.
Regarding the rims, I wouldn't run the ACR's as track, they are worth A LOT of cash on the open market in nice condition. Search and search for posts on rims and tons...
That is interesting but I do like the OEM plug due to the magnet picking up particles. Frankly though, nothing blocks the oil draining from the plug, it's the oil filter drain that's a mess unless you prep the area first.
I had the same problem on a 95. Tested a billion things from good tips from members. Tried a lot of ground wires. I have a PCM and ICM next to each other, I believe this might have been combined in later years. My ICM wasn't processing the speedo signal correctly. Swapped it out and it has...
Seriously, you better get it moving around at least a little bit...you need to get the parts moving around.
I'll bet you haven't changed antifreeze or brake fluid either. Need to be done every two years.
He called Prestone and they directed him to a place to order it online. Small bottle, like 1/3 of the size of a regular gallon of antifreeze, mix with distilled water.
I'd try it if I were you but you might need to remove your block plugs and cycle once with just distilled to really get rid of...
ab, Have you tried Zerex Super Racing coolant? I read about this in Car/Driver a year ago. It's basically corrosion protection without ethylene glycol. Since more distilled water is used with this product it naturally would be cooler. No freeze protection.
WOT! Cool thanks
Tom, It's right above that exhaust manifold hole on the bottom edge of the valve cover. You can't see the hole in the picture. That was just one I took to show that there isn't a wiring harness bolt in the hole.
Anyone with a Gen1 get to check out yours? Just wondering if only mine has the hole open or if it is plugged with a wire harness even though there aren't wires to run through it.
Run from the dealer and consider yourself lucky they didn't try and screw things up. Looks like your doing the smarter things anyways and doing this yourself. Try the Motive pressure bleeder - slick tool for about $50 for your brakes.
Depends on how experienced you are and how you are doing it, manual versus bleeder.
Castrol SRF is the best and expensive. If I were you and didn't have experience, I might consider doing it first with something else. Even Valvoline Synthetic Dot4 is only about $6 a liter. The worst would be...
Someone posted these little clips with hooks that hold the rear of the floormats if yours slip. I bought them at Murray's for about $2 and my floormats haven't moved since.
