Exactly what Tom said. I cannot believe how many posts I read where suggestions of a lower thermostat are made to keep a car cool. I mean, really, whether the tsat opens at 170 or 185 doesn't mean anything if the car is running at 190+.
This has zero freeze protection but Zerex Super Racing Coolant is corrosion only protection and allows you to run 95% pure water. Again, you might want to label something that explains that you have no freeze protection. Drain and add regular coolant if freeze is a possibility. Will drop the...
This amazes me what I read sometimes. Let's think about this for a second. The OEM cap has a vented nipple that is about 2" tall. There is a splash shield on the interior. Adding the power steering vent tube extends this nipple to about 4", has an arch that runs along the side of the...
Don't block the tube as the reservoir needs to vent. This is why I am concerned about rubber tubes that can kink. The concern with this entire issue is keeping the cap from falling off, not fluid spraying out.
Guys, I invented the power steering vent tube after buying my 95 Viper with 800 miles and the cap came off with 1/4 twist. It was only designed to keep the cap from twisting off which it does nicely. The arch in the tube means fluid would have to go pretty far up before leaking out and the...
An easy tip to remove the plugs on top is with two credit cards squeezing on opposite sides. Flatten out the metal on the car once the screws are removed and sill is off as it is extremely thin and will already be pulled out a little. I used various tools from the top and bottom. Touch holes...
Guys, It has been a long time since I removed my 95 side sill exhaust covers. Is the insulation sandwiched between the heat shield with the rivits going all the way through or is there just the heat shield? Come to think of it, the heat shield might have insulation built into it.
I haven't had anyone contact me so the first person that shows up at my house will get them. Sending PM's to Ed and Andrew. That is one heck of a hike Ed from Michigan. I should have just gave them to you before I moved.
I have a set of rear gen1 rims with slicks. They are sealed in plastic bags. Anyone in Phoenix can come pick them up for free. Slicks are old but probably would be fun to screw around with. They were mounted and balanced. I ran down the dragstrip with them twice.
Changing coolant on 95. I searched threads and there are recent postings on the topic. The last I saw was that the current Mopar coolant used in 2010 vehicles is the best technology on the market. Good?
I posted a long write up on this some time ago if you can search and find it. I did it myself. Just takes time, label everything and take pictures. Really was easy with basic tools and a couple of torque wrenches.
Insert 2 credit cards under the round plastic plugs on the top side of the sill. Squeeze together and the plug will pop off. screws are exposed. flatten thin metal around hole with various tools. add dab of rust remover. Other screws are visible from underneath. Screws might likely be...
If you want a really, really cheap solution, split the cats across the center seam, remove the guts, reweld back together using same pipe. Cost equals time and welding supplies. They are stainless. FYI
Prodiver, You are going to be ticked when you read this. AZ has a loophole. If your car is 15 years old, which your 95 is, you can get your insurance to issue a classic insurance policy. I did with State Farm. This makes your Viper exempt altogether from emissions testing.
Loophole in AZ emissions testing. If your Viper is 15+ years old, and you have low mileage insurance which can be considered collector insurance, you are exempt from emissions testing. I have to wait another month to drive in AZ.
I quit making them but have some remaining for club members. As before send a check for $20 to HiPo Engineering 7990 Sandmar Lane, Davisburg, MI 48350 and I'll ship a kit out.
