OK...the Archer guys snapped a few shots when they picked the car up at the factory. I'll try to take some other shots when I see the car in the flesh this weekend. It looks great. I'll be breaking it in at Willow Springs and hope to see you all there.
You guys who expect greater improvements in time, really kill me. When you are already in the 4 second area, ANYTHING is an improvement. Cars at 4 seconds are rare. That is fast. Same thing for 12 second 1/4 mile times. We should be happy with .2 second reductions (and I'm sure after the cars...
Re: #277 ARRIVES! (plenty o\' pics & commentary)
A question for you guys who have already taken delivery of your SRT's: Are the resonators bolted on or welded into the pipe? Are there any of you that think the car would sound better by removing the resonator? I plan on doing that as soon as I...
I saw a silver SRT in South Miami last Wedesday night (7 days ago). It had a Michigan plate on it. It looked good but I'm still glad that I've got a black one coming. Black adds a menacing aspect which to me, iw what a Viper is all about.
Eric Peterson told me that they weren't happy with the paint job on one of the quarter panels, so they were going to repaint it. They (DC) then wanted to take pictures of the car and are going to deliver it for me. It's going directly to Archer Racing to be prepped for the Jan. race in CA. I'll...
The cert program worked exactly as it was supposed to. Sure...there are a few people who took advantage of the situation and will flip their cars for $$$, but not many. Of the 2000 cars sold for the first year, I'll bet not more than 100-150 get resold before the original buyer takes delivery...
Dean,
I don't want to jump into the fray about all of this, because I think most of it is BS, however, you stated that you dynoed your car at an altituded of 720' when the dyno was set for three thousand some odd feet (I don't want to go back and find the exact numbers because it doesn't...
I can't believe that there's even a question about any of this. VCA Presidents deserve their cars before the rest of the nation. It's a time consuming job with no pay. If that's the only perk they get, then they deserve it.
Archer is picking up my car and prepping it for the first race in Jan. I may take a quick flight to Detroit to see it before he does, although if he gets it with some other Comp Coupes soon, I'll just go to his place for the setup. Can't wait. Pictures to follow soon.
Friday I spoke with Tom Francis who is wrapping up all the details and sales contracts on the Comp Coupes. They have started to roll off the line. Guess who got #1???? Thanks DC....now that you've given me my Christmas present, what can I get you?
Rick,
I don't get the beef...honestly. Just because someone is an area president or even the national president, is he (or she) not entitled to their opinion about the car or something that DC does? If all officers always agreed, you'd probably then be calling them "kiss-asses."
The VCA...
Re: Don\'t Hold Your Breath! They\'re NOT Coming Out Any Time Soon?
Honestly, some of the whiners amaze me. It's true, as a group of owners, we have a better and more direct relationship with the manufacturer than any other brand. All of us are getting the cars for thousands (if not tens of...
Re: Don\'t Hold Your Breath! They\'re NOT Coming Out Any Time Soon?
You guys are all paranoid. The world is not a big conspiracy. Sure, there are some bad apples, but in general, look at what a great country we live in compared to EVERY OTHER COUNTRY ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH.
Some of the people posting on this board don't deserve a Viper. If they were waiting for a Ferrari, the wait would be chaulked up to "exotic manufacturers build on their own schedule." Because DC lets Viper owners into the fold a bit, SOME owners think that they must be kept apprised of every...
Guys, haven't any of you spoken with the factory on the Comp Coupe? Here's the deal: The cars are going to start being delivered very soon. I don't know if they have actually started production, but if not it is days away. Those of us who need to have them by the first race in January will have...
Vipernate,
Sure, not all Dodge dealers are scumbags. My only point is that the dealers are whining about not being able to rape the Viper buyers and then ***** when the occasional Viper owner flips his car and does what they want to do. All in all, VERY few SRT coupon holders are going to...
I just gotta throw my .02 into this discussion. I LOVE DC for doing what they have. I appreciate them giving us the cars (at a great price) to the loyal members of the Viper Nation. I would do anything DC asked me to do. With all of that said, here's the flip side. The DEALERS (except...
Guys,
There is no doubt that the article was a negative one. I also know for sure that the car WAS a mule. It's my opinion that some of the negatives stem from disappointment in the lack of outrageous styling that the original cars had. Performance wise, we know that we can't be beat...
Guys,
Relax, we save about $1200 in luxury tax (which is going away Jan. 1) by taking delivery of our new SRT's in January. Wouldn't you wait 45 days to save $1200?
Maybe I can distill everything that people seem to be saying. It seems that we all had the instructor who grabbed the wheel. I had it happen to me and it scared the crap out of me. I'm not a pro, but can at least find my way around a track. The guy took the wheel in a corner. Not good. Is it...
Anywhere in Colorado is a great idea for VOI 8. Colorado Springs would be perfect. I also like the New England idea. Sturgis is not right for us. The bikers sleep in tents on people's front lawns. Some have to stay miles away (I did Sturgis on a bike 2 years ago for the bike week). Sturgis just...
