Price for an '08 - '09 OE hood from Dodge is $1550. Paint depends on with or without stripes. I paid $821 to paint the hood white with blue fang painted stripes. You'll need about an additional $800 for the other misc hood parts consisting of the grilles, push pins, seals, hood scoop...
Huh??? Steel, with is comprised mostly of iron, melts between 2500 to 3200 degrees F, depending on the other alloys. Look up the ASTM specs for various steel alloys (stainless steels, carbon steels, etc.). The temperature range you're listing is that of aluminum.
It my also be easier to simply grind the welds off. You cannot simply "burn off" welds - or at least, you shouldn't want anyone putting a cutting torch or plasma cutter anywhere near this area. This is a welded not soldered joint. Steel melts at approximately 3000 degrees F. A small die...
If you do not wish to drill the hole, you can remove the fender liner to gain access to the forward bolts. Once the sills are off, the rest of it is a piece of cake. Just make sure that the tips are forward in the sill openings and not centered. As the exhaust heats up, the pipes expand and...
I just had an '08 - '09 OE hood painted and striped for my '05 Commemorative Edition. It cost me $821 which included the removal of the old hood and the installation of the new hood (no adjustment of other body panels was required).
Most Viper purists don't really care because this is something that doesn't get touched or looked at very often. I've actually forgotten my car has one.
Re: How hard is it to remove strips ??
WTF are you talking about? What are "strips"? If you mean "stripes" and if they are part of the original package, they cannot be removed because they are painted on.
SW1 was used for the 2005 Commemorative Editions. I went down that road a few weeks ago with having a new 2008 OE hood painted for my Commemorative Edition. By the way, the paint code for the blue fang stripes is SBE if anyone needs to know.
It takes multiple "fit checks" with the sills coming off and on to get a near perfect fit. Take your time and be patient or else, as Mark mentioned, you'll be repainting your sills.
Call or email Ron Batt at Prefix. He can give you the paint code.

That's B.S. I would expect an excellent paint job if I was buyng a $30K Honda Accord. Yes, it is true that this is hand-built car and that panel gaps can vary from car-to-car (I know cause I've owned three of them). The issue here is quality assurrance is not up to the standards of most of...
I wish I could have been in on some of the earlier responses but we all know that there have been paint issues on these cars for quite some time. My 2004 had paint issues but for someone to call out another person saying in essence that you should just drive the car and be happy with it is...
You are referring to their Road Hazard Warranty which unfortunately (I believe), is not available on the PS2's. I have this warranty on a set a Kuhmo's I bought from them about a year ago for my Dakota.
I'm sort of in the same dilemma..... I have a set of new OE six spokes I want to mount but I'm going back and forth trying to decide should I spend $1700 on a new set of PS2's or remove the ZP's from the original 10 spokes and mount them to the 6 spokes. I know the PS2's have better grip (no...
The 2005 Commemorative Editions (100 made) will be your best choice. You can buy mine now because you'll easily spend over $100k for one in three years.
I feel your pain. It took me four tries before I'd accept one that I felt was good enough to keep. Why they can't or couldn't package these things better to protect them is totally beyond me. The main issue is the bent or broken corners although I had a couple with rips in the fabric.
As others have mentioned, the car will run like crap (rough idle and misfire). And if you don't know what 'runs like crap' means, you'll know that it now doesn't sound or feel (shakes more) the same as it did before. Rule of thumb when changing wires: Change them one at a time!
Ditto. If you want the car and it's in pretty good condition, the condition of the tires shouldn't matter. All that matters is a new set of PS2's costs about $1600. If you can get the salesperson to lower his price because of the tread life of the tires, then so be it.
