The car I just bought is a '94 and has the gen II hood on it. the stock airbox has to be modified (ie: cut) to fit the naca duct, other than that it fits right in.. I consider it the best of both worlds.. great looking hood and the awesome sidepipes.

I did research the archives prior to posting. I could see an engine rebuild based on serious issues within the engine.. ie: sleeves shifting.. but the common concensus on the boards was that the gen I engines leak due to faulty head gasket materials. Statements by longtime board members often...
Ok.. I don't get this.. why does the car have to be sent in for a rebuild if the head gaskets leak?? If the issue is the head gasket material, then why don't they just pull the head, replace with the newer material and reassemble? or is this a case that people are soaking dodge for a new engine...
Thanks for the compliments! To answer your questions, the car is a 1994, with a Gen II hood. The color is Dodge's metallic purple (Prowler Purple). The combination of newer hood and color are partly on what had sold me about this car. Just curious though as to how to tell the difference on the...
Hello All,
I finally got around to getting a few photos snapped of the snake. It wasn't as high on the list of priorities as registration/checkout by the viper tech/ insurance/extended warranty etc (Thanks to all of you who offered me advice and assistance in earlier posts). Now if only the...
Just wanted to say many thanks to all of you for the useful information posted here. I was able to get the extended warranty coverage i needed for my viper at over $800 less than originally quoted by the local dealer. I definitely would like to say Chuck Tator of Tator Dodge was EXTREMELY...
Well Hell..
the price i posted was for added care.. not the added care plus (additional $500 they wanted for the plus). Dealer said they could definitely still warranty it though. I wonder what the deal is?? It was the dealership general manager i talked to about this, he said their prices come...
Hi All,
I went through with the purchase this last weekend on a 1994 Viper. I bought it in Las Vegas, had the local dodge dealer viper tech do an inspection and drove it home the next day. Thanks goes to to Marko of the Nevada VCA for assistance in finding a good viper tech. I wanted to get an...
I've been reading the archives and doing a lot of research on vipers in the last month, and i've been running into some conflicting information that I was hoping the board might be able to clear up.
1. Headgaskets.. This is a known failure point it seems.. From what I've read, most gen I cars...
Thanks very much guys for the info!
Scottgf, the car is new to vegas, the owner just moved there a few months ago and brought the car from LA.. He's had it in storage the past 2.5 years or so, run occasionally (only put 3k miles on it in 3 years). Midgetfist, Thanks VERY MUCH for the carfax...

Talked to the VC prez in Vegas and found the best dealership to take it to be checked out at. I forgot to post the vin if anyone had an active carfax currently. it was :

Hello All,
I'm Bruce and I'm new to the boards. I'm flying out to Las Vegas Friday morning to purchase a 1994 RT/10. I was hoping to hit up the vets on the list about things to check for. I am making an appointment with a dodge dealer in down to get a Viper tech to give the car a good inspection...
