For me 6th @ 6,000 rpm = right at 200 mph which, of course, my car would never do, but the sweet spot around 5,250 is in the high 170s range in 6th so the car will definitely go faster in 6th than 5th (and with an extra gear to help I am guessing it would get there sooner than with stock...
with the mods you have such as the custom trans with that .64 6th gear ratio and the 3.55 rear gear you should be able to hit your top speed in 6th gear within 2.0 miles. i see that you also have more aggresive gearing in 5th gear as well as 6th gear too so if am guessing at 6,000 rpm's you car...
Leslie - i see that you road race your Z06 and that you drive your viper on the street.
i do the just the opposite with my cars. i road race my viper and use my Z06 as my daily driver street car. i use my camaro and my lightning for drag racing
all my ridez get driven on the street...
would luv to run in the faster classes but the amount of safety equipment installed on your car dictates how fast they will let you go. in order to run in the supersport divisions which is basically the unlimited classes you need to have a minimum 8 point roll cage installed in your car as well...
the new suspension set up is much better than the stock one. at high speed (175+ mph) the increased negative camber versus stock feels more twitchy to me though. putting more caster into the aligment will help alleviate this problem but at the expense of slow speed handling so compromises have...
AZTVR - i see that you are in chandler. i live in tucson and will be doing some track time with nasa and asra this fall at firebird and PIR. hope to see you out there
looks like you have the same exact viper as me. i had my front 2 shox rebuilt by carl-haas. they installed a schrader valve. the cost was $200 per shock
the setup i have is way better in terms of heat. i run the new ebc yellow track pads in the front and the old ebc reds in the rear. i have a infrared thermometer gun and checked my caliper and rotor temps front and rear and suprisingly the front calipers run 20 degrees cooler than the rear. it...
as you can see, if you can tell at all, i only lowered my viper 3/4" in the front and 1/2" in the rear. my car is setup for road racing and so i didn't want to go too low or i wouldn't be able to get it on my trailer, lol. i had the car corner weighted and a road race track alignment done with...
in a 1/4 mile race it will be very close and will come down to whoever gets the better traction on the launch. given a equally good traction and driving by both drivers my $$$ are on the viper by 1 car length.
LMAO - i totally agree. :bonker: that nsx has about the same amount of torque in its engine that the lug nuts on my viper are torqued too. the nsx is a BIG $$$$$$ definition of a poser car too me. just an overpriced ricer with rear wheel drive. yeah it has the engine in the back like a ford...
thanx 4 sharin this qoute from craig. this just confirms what i already know. i had a feeling that me and craig think alike. it really is simple when you think about it. its just plain old common sense as far as i am concerned. i went to this years barrett-jackson and it was spectacular. i can't...
that cobra cost about $5,000 when purchased new back in 1966. so thats about 100X appreciation over a 40 year time period. it definately outpaced inflations increase of about 20X.
anyway, i am bettin my 2001 viper ACR will be worth at least $1 million in 2033. so that would be a 10X...
