Final testing of roeracing 710 cam, expectations exceeded

Twister, ask the dyno operator to send you the DRF run files and I can put together a nice before/after chart for you that shows all your gains. Great work and I'm glad to see that with the cats removed and a revised tune it picked up as much as it did. Seems like a healthy gain and well worth...

Nav/Multimedia Stock Sized Replacement - Review

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of replies. Merry Christmas. I've now used the system for a few months, although sparingly, and have to say I love the Bluetooth feature more than anything. I've customized the GPS program a bit, and have come to realize it is the latest and greatest GPS that the...

    SRT-10 Corsa exhaust dyno numbers??

This should tell you what you want for bolt ons. http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/643236-Day-on-the-Dyno-Intake-Exhaust-Tune-Results Little to no gain with exhaust only. Stock cars will dyno as listed above on a Dynojet. Any other dyno and it'll vary up to 10% just on dyno operator variables.

    Something strange with this car?

It's unfortunate that the car is misrepresented. Someone will have spent a lot of money only to get an unknown end product.

    Exhaust Question

Which would agree with my statement that the Corsa exhaust would not be greatly beneficial on a GenIV car and if the sound is the main concern, the stock exhaust is the way to go. I disagree with your statement that the Corsa exhaust was worth 10-15 HP, as I personally have done back to back...

    Exhaust Question

I'm willing to bet it's not more than the percentage differential between the two. The point was there won't be more than 5 HP gained between the two and if there is concern with volume, sticking with the stock exhaust won't lose much. These cars are designed with performance in mind.

    I should've gotten out!

    Exhaust Question

I did back to back runs with Corsa on my Gen III and only picked up 1 HP/6 TQ. I don't believe the stock muffler is much of a restriction, and we have noticed that for many other late model cars as well.

Initial testing of roeracing 710 camshaft

Twister I'm not sure there's a need for any more back and forth. I already stated that for back to back comparisons your method is acceptable. Just note which method was used. The difference between the two is just almost always 4%. Like I said it only matters for those of us who want to...

Initial testing of roeracing 710 camshaft

I'd say perpetuating the inflated numbers is just as wrong as posting them to begin with. You also don't talk about your average bowling score or marathon time, you talk about your best. The first cat is the one you'd want to get rid of anyway. Get that thing cleared out. Yes a converter...

Initial testing of roeracing 710 camshaft

I understand your wanting to use STD numbers, but for comparisons sake SAE is preferred. SAE corrects to a given temperature, humidity and pressure allowing for relative comparisons from location to location. While your numbers are perfectly fine for back to back comparison, like you saw there...

    Quaife Sequential trans.???

Drunk isn't strong enough to define the state of mind you'd be in to pay that. More random banter here: http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/580976-Sequential-Shifter-for-Vipers Dated but still applicable. It looks like the Holinger was the crazy expensive one and the others may or may...

    Rockville fatality in Viper

Sad news for his friends and family. Terrible to have such an accident happen, it's such a quick event. I was at a holiday part that night and people I don't regularly see were asking to look at the car. They were surprised I chose not to drive it and even more confused when I said it was too...

Initial testing of roeracing 710 camshaft

Thanks for this data, it looks great and the car sounds healthy. What settings was WinPep on for smoothing and correction factor? That graph was very choppy. I've made a 40+ rwhp difference just playing with correction factors in the past. I assume your settings were the same back to...

Pics - New Wheels: 360 Forged Concave Mesh

All other things aside, they look fantastic and I'm disappointed to hear you won't be making more. I'd think that with the bugs figured out they would be very hot ticket item.

What type of metal is the gen 4 gas cap

300 series stainless is not magnetic, however 400 series is. Difference is chromium in the 400 series. I would assume it's a cast aluminum with a chrome plating of some sort which may give it a slight magnetic attraction.

What's an 08 Viper with 48,000 miles worth?

Probably a draining battery issue if I had to guess. Such little things with these cars can cause people to want them checked on.

What's an 08 Viper with 48,000 miles worth?

For some of us 600 or 650 rwhp isn't enough.

    04 flywheel clutch change question.

Honestly putting an aftermarket budget flywheel and clutch in the car (IE If it doesn't cost you 1500+) is a waste. The stock clutch and flywheel are great and are well engineered to not only hold the power and torque, but also dampen vibrations and balance the system perfectly.

    04 flywheel clutch change question.

Agreed on all counts. The 03/04 SRT10s do have a crank trigger on the flywheel as an FYI, but I'm unaware of what it takes to transfer that to an aftermarket flywheel. The Viper is a basic nuts and bolts car like any other. The transmission is a mass produced piece and the engine is...

New Jack Rachett Gen V rendering at allpar

I'll tell ya, drive one then you may change your mind. It's a blast to drive, completely different experience than the Viper, but the car is a lot more versatile and still gives a grin from ear to ear when you stomp the loud pedal. Hell the car doesn't handle that awful either. Having had...

New Jack Rachett Gen V rendering at allpar

The last few comments had me curious. I've overlayed my Turbo Ford car dyno graph to the Viper, just for kicks, but never the old blower car. The comparison is a 4.6L DOHC with a 3.4L Whipple, normal bolt ons but stock motor, versus a bolt on GenIII Viper. Both were done on the same...
