The economics of it are tough. I've brought this same discussion to my contact at Whipple. Unfortunately with the plethora of new platforms, all of which sell more than 10k units per year, there's just a better direction they can go. Their offer to me was similar; they'd supply the blower...
It's a shame you aren't able to mod back to stock and sell the car stock. You'd certainly make out better that way. You'd have a larger market to sell to, and get cash for the mods.
Of course you could always find someone with a stock car to swap parts for you ;)
I agree with this sentiment. I also don't understand the mindset of Gen IVs being the last real Viper. Will people not be able to turn the added electronics off such as in most other high end sports cars?
The supply for the fourth Gen has ceased, but as people sell, either to upgrade to a newer...
I believe, and I very well may be wrong, that if you plug in an SCT Handheld, there should be an option to get the processor ID.
I also think the number is printed somewhere else on the car, but this may very well be wrong. I'll go check on both when I get home.
I apologize, I had gotten so busy I never checked. I'll send an email now to have someone check tomorrow.
I agree with your sentiments though; any company can "rate" a trans to a certain torque capacity. When the OE supplier rates it at 700 tq there is a safety factor involved; this isn't the...
LOL. I remember the first time I heard my turbo car, scared the piss out of me. You're going to have quite a beast on your hands.
Best of luck with it, I can't wait to check it out.
Thanks Aries, I've seen your thread and have that picture as a reference. I'm going to attempt the same routing, but really would benefit from seeing which hoses were rerouted or pushed out of the way to make such a move happen. I'd really like to check your car out at some point, being only a...
I'm looking for some info on how people ran their intercooler piping on a TT car. Looking to put a front mount on my car and would rather see how others have done it than reinvent the wheel.
Mainly interested in routing of charge piping to the front bumper, relocation of any lines/coolers...
ESPECIALLY Launching in 2nd gear. There's no way you should launch in second with 3.07 rear gears and a 1st that goes to 60. If you had launched in second, your only shift would've been to third.
Something sounds off or is goofy.
The input shafts are 26 spline on the T56 Magnum, GM T56 and Viper T56, but the output shaft is 30 splines on the Viper and the T56 Magnum only.
I'll call up a vendor tomorrow to find out if it's a direct swap. If so it's a great alternative. Much nicer shifting transmission with minimal cost.
Has anyone looked into the T56 magnum? 6060 internals, 56 case. Tremec produces it as a near direct swap and I put one in my Cobra when they came out. Cheaper, and stronger, alternative possibility. Factory rated from Tremec to 700ftlbs, much higher than the factory versions and a true OE...
Red is so photogenic! I actually like the deeper red color a lot, but I hear you on black. After having a black Cobra and a black F250, I needed a change. When it comes to a high end car though, never settle. Even if you had to change out the half shafts, it's worth it.
Always a good look. I was a fan of the old Mopars with the fill door on top of the rear quarter, IE Old Chargers.
Now that I have a Coupe rear end, it's just a shame that there's no way to put the fuel door since I have a vert too.... LOL
Cars like ours want the standard style plug. They're designed to work with them. My opinion with aftermarket plugs is an NGK works best, but that's personal experience.
Bosch seems to have gimmic plugs with dual electrodes etc. Electricity goes to the path of least resistance, if your plugs...
Torco is a fuel additive to increase octane. It is often used on forced induction cars where 93 alone may be too risky and cause detonation. Higher octane fuels only help control detonation, or knock, and do not inherently increase performance. Using a fuel with an octane rating above what a car...
Looks great Ryan. I'm jealous of how good the car looks so low. I had bought Eibachs and a set of "Lowering Caps" from a guy on the forum here; well turns out they were stock caps. Guy stopped replying to my emails, looks like I got screwed!
Steve it sounds like the Challenger has the V10 Viper engine in it per the OPs original description.
As for fitting a cutout, it'd be tight but I don't see why someone with enough skill couldn't fab something up. I'd have to look under again to really get an idea of what to do.
