davidn, I hate to see this on your new car as I thought SRT might have fixed the sensitive issues for CELs over the Gen 4 which are fairly common. Mine included of course but fixed. Dealer tech should have the answer and fix as needed.
Well said and I have seen the same thing over the years for Texas aka Mexico del Norte, sad to say. Its getting like Florida or better known as "Flahidah" (another great place I lived for years) before you know who invaded that state.
You are so spot on here and just like my closed post a month ago on how the forums have gone to hell sums it up again. I cannot forget how some of us VCA old timers saw how great the forums WERE with intelligent questions and answers without the immature quibbling and assaults? The new crap...
Thanks for posting this new info. The replies seem kind of vague but maybe now I can run without that goofy rubber facia mount for the plate. Will look for an official announcement next month.
Man are you lucky from the Pin Heads as they are known. Of all the numerous agencies running around in Texas compared to any other states, DPS are the worst for issuing tickets for almost anything, and the lowest paid. Count your blessings. I cannot stand them. They also love to cruise around...
The CEL issue with the Gen 4 is so common and you may have what I had on my 09 with the pcm going bad. It was replaced under warranty and all has been good since. Since your light went out after re setting I would live with it and hope it does not re appear. If it does come back on a good viper...
Go to the COTA web site for all races at COTA. Got our tickets thru them months ago for the ALMS plus they sell the parking passes there too. Sign up with them and you will get all their emails too for all events.
Another CEL issue is very common it seems on here especially for the Gen 4, and this is the reason I am steering well clear of hi flo cats. I expect that to be the problem but it could be another. Seems like most owners who do the cats etc. also go with the Mopar PCM to prevent the CEL issue.
Best Drivers Car does not mean the FASTEST car for the test. Im sure MT will do a thorough test of these cars with a complete breakdown, scoring, and opinion for just that, an all around Best Drivers Car. My gut feeling will be the BMW as an all out winner. NOT the fastest. The BMW always scores...
Yes, I thought the same thing actually. Down 1 1/2 quarts as stated may not just be a catch can issue or need. Nor will that much oil even fit in the can.
Bill is exactly right and a speed shop near me that does tire work also said the same thing. For spending 100k plus for a car, another 850.00 for security and safety should not be an issue.
Im not much of a shutter bug unless at the track but search catch cans on here and there are some great photos owners have posted of the install. I cannot remember the brand of can but its the most widely used one and the cost was around 450 for the kit plus the install cost. I have it checked...
Just saw one for sale in Calif. with 20 yes 20 miles on it and never driven except the factory miles. Window sticker still on it and the plastic. 145k ouch.
Just had this happen too on a new tire with my 09 ACR. As mentioned above you really need to get a new one for safety rather than a patch. Call Luk at the tire rack to order one.
Awesome motor mods and looks great. Looks as though the front lower facia has seen some curb action. Any of the old employees from RSI in Houston with you? Not Gerald, but the techs? Or is this a totally new RSI? You are not too far from me.
Actually its not very laughable but true, not on just the Gen V forum but all the others too lately, and it keeps going even after your post. The pictures are great though and it is THE best looking Gen V I have seen by far. You can almost smell the newness while looking inside. Only bought one...
Glad you are here and liking the car. Very similar for us both as Im currently running an 09 ACR but also had a 99 GTS that Hennessey did along with other tuners. I had zero problems with the 99 and it was an awesome GTS R replica with almost 700 HP. You will really like the club and some great...
