No need for drag racing tires since I wont be drag racing. One wheel is polished, one isn't -- both have drag radials mounted, so you are ready to go racing. First reasonable offer takes em. Wheels and tires. PM me.
Manny
Gerald, also keep in mind that if you go to larger wheels, the gap may increase slightly due to the really low profile tire (25 series on the 20 inchers.) The wheel gap on my car is insane right now -- can't wait to lower it (needs about a 2 to 2 1/2 inch drop on the rears. Gap is 3.5 inches...
Im staying at my condo in Vegas. YAY! Actually, my best friend is driving up with me from San Diego and we may stay at the MGM on Thursday or Friday since he wants to go out and party at Studio 54. Prolly best to do that Thursday night since there is no Viper Days event on Friday morning.
Chuck, you and I are too similar in too many ways. I've got a diesel 2500 (non dually) and that is all you need. I use it to to my enclosed trailer and car and gear which is a total of 13,000 pounds. I've towed 10 hours each way at 85 MPH with no issues, up and down mountains passing other...
I don't remember. Less than 15K per year since 99 though ;-) Seriously, I think it has around 45K miles. SInce Doug Levin worked on the car, I have put less than 1,000 miles on it. The car has been trailered further than it has been driven since I have owned it. Sad. That's what you get...
Ummmm, although it looks good for a photo shoot, you couldn't drive that around being lowered like that without damaging your wheel well, rubbing the tires, etc. Looks like there is less than a 1/2 inch space, if any at all in there. You can forget about going over any kind of speed bump or...
Just to clarify this whole threatd -- JonB at Parts Rack has always been good to me. His prices have always been fair and he has been the only one to have certain items in stock when I needed them. From what I understand, the Aldan shocks were claimed by Aldan and others who had tested them...
I will be posting the ad next week. Need to get all the details together. Just about everything on the car has been changed... brakes, body, interior, suspension, motor, your name it.
Manny
Thanks Jon. Well the shocks are not new and in the box -- they are on the car at the moment which why I have these issues. I guess I will wait the 2 weeks to see what Aldan does before choosing to upgrade to even better shocks.
As to my spring rates, to be honest, I forget now since I ordered...
Yeah, Hennesssey has the KW and they look great for about $3,000 shipped to your door, but I already have the Aldans -- they aren't working correctly though. Dave Cawthorn, our San Diego Viper Chapter president just opened his shop and is putting these in for me, but he was told by a rep at...
I have a 1999 1,000 HP DLM supercharged GTS with too many goodies to mention for $10K more than the 2004 Red SRT10 listed above. PM me if interested. ;-)
Kai, what pressures do you run hot at the track with the sport cups? One of my fellow Viper friends was asking me about this at a previous event, but since I don't run those tires, I wasn't sure. I've heard different pressures from various people, from 28 pounds up to mid 40's. That's too much...
Trust me guys, if you plan on tracking, get yourself an extra set of wheels. Nothing beats the convenience of quickly swapping out your wheels and having better grip at the track. I find that if your car does start to get away from you, you have a much better chance of recovery with stickier...
OK Guys, I need some help from anybody who has gone through the pain and suffering of putting on the Aldan shocks. Here's my story:
Way back last year, I bought some Aldan Shocks and springs from Parts Rack. I never installed them for a variety of reason until just recently. I didn't install...
Unless you plan on driving with the top down, the SRT10 is not a good daily driver. As a pure convertible, it's a fun car. With the top on, it has absolutely horrendous blind spots, it's noisy, etc. Handling/Power is awesome though! I prefer driving the SRT10 to the GTS.
Scotty, one other thing. For the V700, are you using the Ecsta or the Victoracer? Both have the V700 model. I assume the ECSTA since that is the newer model?
Lastly, Tire Rack says Kumho recommends you shave the tire before road coursing, otherwise exessive wear can happen in localized...
Thanks Scotty. I may order a set to try out at the track then. Do you get your heat cycled or do you do that in a session then put the tires away for a day?
-Manny
Scott,
Are you running 315's all the way around on your Kumhos? Has Kumho come out with the Viper sized tires for the rear? I ask because last time I was going to buy some, their biggest size was the 315. Also, are you runnin 18 inch wheels all the way around?
Scotty, you have done a ton of...
