Pretty much any rwd car will pull a sub - 2.0 60' with enough practice. 60' isn't about power, it's all about traction and inertia. You'll see pretty much the same (rather poor) short times with the Viper as with the vette due to the run-flats and shitty (for drag racing) rear suspension.
On the contrary, there's a very good reason they say the camera adds 15 pounds... a flat photograph can take away the cues that your brain interprets as depth. When I see an SRT in person it looks completely different than in pictures, and it has nothing to do with scrutiny. The mind is simply...
Ah, but I don't want the extra weight and reduced space that a tire/jack would bring. I suppose it could just be taken out of course, that's fine. It just seems like they didn't think those run-flats through in terms of weight and traction penalties.
What I'd like to see is Dodge acknowledge that people who can buy a Viper can also afford to call a flatbed when needed, and ditch the run-flats altogether. Forget the spare tire completely. With cell phones and AAA I simply don't see the need for it. The rotating mass benefits from a lighter...
Not for me then. I love feeling the gears and synchros in my hand, and the engine through both my feet. I tried an SMG M3 but it was (IMO of course) absolute [******]. I'd never, ever buy one. The complete lack of feel and control for slow speed (<3mph) maneuvers, terrible uphill manners and...
New \'06 SRT-10 features ??
Couple of questions if anyone knows:
I think the new five spoke wheels look really great on the coupe (love that lip as well... no more curbed faces!). As a convertible lover however the bigger question I have is whether or not they will also be available on the...
The driver's side stripe looks good, but the passenger's stripe is too close to centerline. By the looks of things the Fangs badge might need to be relocated to center... it seems a bit off. Maybe it's just the angle at which the picture was taken.
Anyone with a black car absolutely must buy a California Duster. As the (former) owner of two black cars, the CD kept them pollen and dust free between washes with no hassle whatsoever. A must have.
So first you say that Car and Driver likes American cars, implying that their statements favor the corvette, and yet in the same post you provide proof that they don't by their treatment of the Porsche. So which is it? Do American sources love American cars, or do they love German cars?
P.S. A...
Nope, AMG strokes the mercedes 5.5L found in the S600 to 6.0L and calls it the 65. The 55 and lower series correspond to the displacement, but the 600 and 65 series don't. At least per the AMG engine specification.
Chris that's incredible... with a nice conservative 13% drivetrain loss that's more than 525-530 flywheel hp! I know how this one was broken in but what about your '03? Was it driven hard as well?
Well it's obvious that you are simply not willing (or capable) of evaluating facts. Your statement is wrong of course... the LS2 produces more power for its size than (AFAIK) any mass production engine in existence. I'm sure there might be one or two that squeak by, but it won't be by much. The...
Yes but why have they been almost completely phased out? There has to be a reason. BTW, OHC engines are much older than OHV... the Ford Model A and T were external camshaft designs, as were the engines of the late 1800s. The OHV concept was tried in 1919 by Chevy, but the concept was too...
