GTS or SRT10?
The SRT is a much better car, the GTS will turn more heads. I strongly suggest that you drive both before making a choice... if driving is in any way a priority, go with the SRT. Transaxle Consideration ???
Most of those cars are mid engined, and they handle well in spite of their rear bias, because of the mass of the engine located near the center of gravity verses at one end or the other. The porsche, as the exception, was a terribly difficult car to drive until just recently due to its rear...- fluffy

Transaxle Consideration ???
The SRT is already weight biased rearward, why would we want to move even more weight back there? Better to have the mass closer to the center of gravity and the distribution closer to 50-50.- fluffy

96-97 Porsche turbo how fast???
I think you're confusing the GT2 with the normal turbo. The GT2 is $180k US, and is quite a bit faster than the GT3 and turbo.- fluffy

20% better gas mileage in your SRT-10
Some gas savings makes sense. You're increasing the diameter of your tires, effectively gearing your car slightly taller. In order to increase circumference of your tires by 20% the diameter only needs to be increased by about 1.5 inches, which I suppose is possible with enough extra tire...- fluffy

When the next big change for SRT?
The C6 only dropped 50 lbs or so from the coupe, I seriously doubt that the Z06 will somehow drop an additional 400 - 500 lbs off of that. No way. Maybe 3000lbs.- fluffy

Possibly. I take it to mean that they realized that the pavement was stickier in the June heat. If they had tested them both at the same time, why not test them on the same stretch of track? No it wasn't. The numbers for the Viper were lifted straight from the high speed shootout in June, down to the 100th second and mph for the quarter. The GT was tested at a completely different time and under different conditions.- fluffy

MT apparently tested the 500hp version. The production GT is supposed to be 550 hp as tested by Car and Driver (I think it was them) where it ran an 11.6@128. If the Z06 hits 500 Chevy won't have to overstate anything. Even if the Z06 only has 480 or 490hp it will still be enough to edge out...- fluffy

They'd better. If there is nothing for '06, then the SRT will be playing third fiddle to the GT and the Z06. That would be an intolerable situation, especially considering the massive displacement advantage we enjoy.- fluffy

Comp Coupe Cut in Half...
One of the big differences is the fenders... on the pic above notice the aggressively flared front fenders on the CC compared to the almost delicate curve of the SRT. The flares really set the CC apart from virtually every angle and allow it to project a lower, wider and meaner stance.- fluffy

*shrug* I don't think anyone knows for sure, but only another 40 days until we find out. I think it will be higher than that though. I suspect 400-425 and 475-500 for the base/Z06. In fact I hope it's that much... maybe then DC will give us another 75-100 hp.- fluffy
