Re: 2004 SRT-10 Recall
Here is a thought that sucks, as I mentioned in my VIN thread. If D/C is not treating this as a recall, how do we reliably know if our motor is affected until it thrashes itself? I would much prefer to be able to find a recall database I could rely on.
Re: 04 Cam sprocket VIN\'s
A skunk by any other name still smells. I have a very important concern if we do look at this as being something other than a recall as Rich suggests. All of the avenues I have been directed down by D/C have referenced recall data. If D/C is not looking at this as...
Re: 04 Cam sprocket VIN\'s
I have been a number 1 pest to D/C this afternoon after reading 1Tony1's post as to the validity of the list, and whether my car is actually on it or not. After a dozen or so calls to various D/C numbers from tech to service to warranty to recall etc no one can find...
Re: 04 Cam sprocket VIN\'s
My dealership. They contacted zone this morning and got the list. When they pulled my VIN up there was no comment on needing the work. I double checked by calling the D/C recall center and once again was assured my motor was not subject to the recall.
04 Cam sprocket VIN\'s
Here are the last nine digits of the vehicles involved. I luckily was not included. The VIN's of sold motors have an X next to them.

Re: 2004 SRT-10 Recall
Well, went to dealer this am and had my VIN checked. Nothing. I asked the service manager if that meant I was ok in driving the car, I was planning a 200 mile trip this am. The response was "I do not know what to tell you, I just found out about the issue yesterday."...
The MK40 is a bit too small for my hands, my 27 is bad enough. Glock seems to have our department wrapped up. As for the car, I am certainly not happy about this, but as we all know &%#* happens. I am just glad to know about this now, and not when the engine decides to come apart.
I had a check engine light come on Feb 12. The dealer checked the code and stated it was a bad sensor, not sure if they said crank or cam. It was replaced, and two days later the light returned for one day, and has been off since. The only symptom the car had was it has always taken two...
Took my SRT to Nashville this weekend, caught one stone down and one on the way back, what luck. Insurance sent out repairman, no charge. They said if it needed replaced later they would waive deductable.
Viper SRT. This system has no crossover. In order to provide what I thought was the best recording the car was in my driveway, warmed to operation temp, both doors open, with the microphone on the center console.
Treynor, I emailed you the sound clip, sorry about the delay. Please host. I noticed while doing the clip that my tach no longer jitters above 4500 rpm like it did with the stock system. Whats up with that?
Frank, If I gained just 5-10 hp thats fine. The bigger benefits to me were the awesome sound, the way the SRT should have sounded from the factory, and the tremendous reduction in heat. I recorded the exhaust tonight. I will digitize it and email to Treynor tomorrow.
I seem to remember JonB saying Corsa claimed an increase, I do not remember how much. I can say the 4000 and up RPM range does not feel restrained now. Before I changed the exhaust the car seemed constipated for lack of a better term when the RPMS were climbing above 4000, now it feels free...
Skip,
No more crossover is correct. The exhaust note is great. I know this sounds stupid, but the note reminds me of my friends HD softail. I have a Belanger/RT Cat/Corsa 3" on my GTS, and this system sounds better. At throttle it is not quiet. The secondary cats are still there. Even...
