Just received my annual Virginia personal property (i.e., car) tax bill:
'04 Viper --
Tax amount: $3516.16
Car Tax "Relief": $639.80
Tax to be paid: $2876.36
'98 V6 Camry --
Taxes owed (after "relief"): $93.91
Talk about a graduated taxing scheme/scam. And I already paid VA state sales...
I give my Viper Tech, Jeff Sherwin at Jerry's Dodge in Springfield, VA, a 5 (on a 1-to-five scale)! :2tu:
As for my Viper build quality experience...
History: let's not go there.
Current car: 5 :D Thanks Jeff!
Unless you get a used Valentine, I think you have to pay the MSRP since I don't think Valentine uses distributors (i.e., you have to buy it from the "M" that made the "S" regarding the "RP"). Then again, I could be wrong.
In all likelihood, once you use a Valentine, you'll never go back --...
Yea!
I like the looks of it more than my '04, which I like quite a bit (although I do personally prefer a convertible for the driving experience, looks aside).
And as for performance, it comes strong stock and, perhaps more importantly, has LOTS of potential for performance mods. If...
Re: Any news from you Gen III guys about sticky 19
I actually called Michelin this morning, again, to ask, again, about whether or not the Pilot Sport Cups would be coming out in 345-30-19s this year.
Reply: "No word yet, but we should be getting the word on new sizes within the next four...
Looks like you're going to lose an inch of width off each of the rears. If zero pressure is your only issue with the stock tires, why not just get the non-zero pressure Pilot Sports in stock sizes and save your wheel purchase for dedicated track tires?
Re: Just Installed Northwind 1
That one inch does indeed make all the difference! It's nice to feel as if you're below the roll bars, actually in the car and looking through the middle of the windshield (and I'm only 5'9"). Thank you NWE! I also agree that the spring wire should be replaced...
I just called Sloan Kwikload trailers. In response to my question "What's the torque specs for the wheel lugs?" the guy on the phone said in a Texas drawl "Just as tight as you can get 'em." Hehe.
That's no doubt true of some suppliers, but not all. JonB has talked me out of buying lots of stuff I didn't actually need, just like he's doing in the post above with respect to the skipshift device. The resulting trust is one of the reasons I keep going back to PartsRack.
I bought my cover through PartsRack and have been extremely please with it. Very high quality, perfect fit and great price too.
You know you can't use a bra on the track, right?
How timely, I was going to ask the same question today, since I received a Griot's Garage torque wrench from my wife for Christmas (yes, I provided a list this year after receiving a picnic basket last time, hehe). I looked it up last night in the 04 shop manual, and it too states 90 ft.lb. or...
Scott,
To me the Gen III Viper looks best in black, although I’m very partial to graphite as well. The dark metallic red below (which is actually linked to one of the pictures in one of your posts on this board) is stunning also, as would be a midnight blue or Montigo Blue I think. I’m not...
Try pushing in hard on the door near the handle when turning the key in the scallop. It's a little tricky at first, and always requires that you push in the door, but it is mechanical and it will work.
16. Where you can stop, shop or dine is entirely dependent upon the availability of spacious parking and, if you're going to be there a while, a line-of-sight view from inside.
Yea, the install is an all-day job. I'm jealous too, since it would be nice to see out the rear view mirror again. Looks great and congrats on your new potential to survive a rollover and on your ability to get on the track without a bolt-on hard top!
