Very interesting detailed review; thanks much for sharing. Enjoy your new ACR ride!
PS: Try a set of Belangers... see if that doesn't change your mind some on the Viper's exhaust note.
Rocket62, yeah it seems low on the torque for your mods but really with a Street Serpant it's a crying shame not to have that bad boy Paxtonized. Do this and you will see 675rwhp and 600rwtq. The next best 10K you'll ever spend on that beast...
Lookin' good... probably want to keep an eye on those Moton pressures and run north of 200# otherwise with it slammed like that you'll be taking a good chance of rubbing off some costly car parts.;)
Sure maybe one can put a car in limp mode and make the computer all but fool proof when brought for service but the power disablement may in itself lead to the cause of an accident or your car could suffer unusually rough handling because of this action. It's probably better to bring your car to...
I was somewhat concerned about drone/loudness as well but went for it and so far I've been quite satisfied. Definitely has a purposeful menecing tone that's loud but not intolerable and it sure provides for a good bit more midrange punch.
Go out and drive an '08, if that's not enough consider you would start with a brand new warranty and have the coupe body style you need/want. This will no doubt make it an easier decision for you.
3.33's seem to make for a good street and short(er) track gear as you can keep out of 5th (overdrive) longer but still get decent torque multiplication throughout the first four gears. I've had 3.55's but redline and 5th come to soon too often in my experience.
Why can't you alter your '08? Still running stock headers, gears, etc?
If you go with an '03 - '06 you should be able to hit 675rwhp 600rwtq reliably without the need for an engine rebuild. Have fun...
Moton ClubSports are a *big* improvement over stock... they will set you back about $5K properly setup but it's well worth it. Oh, and the Mopar acr version is still pricier.
SnakeSkin Green has so many incredible hues the color looks absolutely stunning on the Viper... beast grabs attention wherever you drive.
Thanks again team Viper.:2tu:
