It seems to be an issue for just about all the installs. A heat gun can relax the contact point and reduce the amount of wear but a new mold is the real answer. I also brought this up to Micah sometime ago. I'll be looking to receive a new air box myself - hopefully sooner rather than later.
You're kidding right? Great as part of a collection maybe, but as stand alone excitement machine, no way. Rather boring and predictable it is eh. Viper all the way.
Maybe Brad04Mamba of Fresno CA will chime in...
If I recall he did some tracking prior to his Corsa install and although not on fire his pipes were a smokin' after just a few hot laps.
The factory crossover is going to roast you and your sills at the track. A Corsa track system would take care of the heat issue and give you more power and much better sound.
Re: Sport Cups on HRS\'s
Awesome ride ViperGMC. Btw, did you notice any adverse effects with the 1 1/2" lowering of you vehcle? Also, did you find that an alignment was necessary? Thanks.
DJ, haven't experienced this problem myself but I would think if you called Corsa and explained the issue they would give you technical assistance and/or send you the necessary parts to put a stop to this. Corsa's does have pretty good reputation so one would think your chances with them are...
Danny, how's a stock set with about 4K miles in great shape sound to you?
Also, when and at what price point were you hoping to make this happen?
Let me know...
Mike ... The oil pressure is somewhat higher when under boost, I have noticed this as well since my Paxton install. No problems have seemed to come of this to the best of my knowledge - so far anyway. Curious - why did you change from the split second unit out for the Vec 2? Planning on a...
I've heard after a Paxton install the horn can/should be relocated to allevate this problem.
Mine is fairly loud so I've really never looked to see if/where they moved it...
The seats are snug but they do provide good support. Not having a power driver’s seat can be a problem too. Driver positioning is important, maybe even more so in a performance vehicle. A seat/power option would offer choice which isn't a bad thing.
Beavis or Butthead?
Great dnyo event, nice day, and a good Viper turnout equaled a fun time for all.
Now it's time to drive 'em in one of those spontaneous mountain drives, JD?! :p
