I think great tuners like Sean should spend less time promoting his product via Internet and by poking at others with his semantics and spend more time trouble shooting, researching and developing his simple bolt-on product.
Chuck B.
I think the twin screw diy bolt-on for the newer vipers are the best bang for the buck. If you own a viper with a warranty you just bolt on the blower and when the engine blows up you pull the sc system off like nobody's business and get dodge to flip the tab. Heck....you could even sell the...
Since I own a DLM car I can comment on the basics that I know of. It has the big Aeromotive fuel system. Bigger fuel lines and injectors. I don't know the exact specifics but I do know the engine can't go lean. It has a backup fuel system. If the 02 sensors sense a lean condition it will tell...
Spinning the tires at 150 sounds like fun to me  . Does the stock hood fit with that blower???? You guys are insane. I used to think I had a fast DLM car :p .
Cheers,
Chuck
I have one of the original Level III DLM Vipers. Not as much power as the newer versions. That will change soon :D . Car runs perfect and will never sell it.
Cheers,
Chuck
David, I'm jealous   ! That would be great if you can post a graph of your dyno sheet. I agree with you about Doug and customer service. He's terrific. My car runs great too. I hope to be as fast as you someday. Hmmm....... come to think of it, Doug doesn't like to send cars...
I don't think the Mopar computer upgrade is worth anything. Most people go with the Corsa over the Borla because of the interior noise. They both sound good though. The Corsa is better on long cruises.
Cheers,
Chuck
Excellent to see the Gen I cars making some big power  You guys are making more power than my little 'ole Gen II but NOT for long :) .
We'll see who makes more power this time around when Doug gives mine a little tune up :) :) .
Keep up the great work Doug!
Cheers,
Chuck
Jeff, if you do purchase a 2000 or up cast piston car call Doug Levin Motorsports. DLM has a lot of cast piston cars that make close to 700 rear wheel horsepower without doing other mods :) . It may cost you more but when you add up the cost of all the other mods you need to make that much...
I don't know of another way to properly tune an sc/nos car without having some type of a/f map to tune with? How does everybody else do it? Why not use the probe after the cat and get a reading close to what you need?
I would rather be off +/- half a point than guess what the a/f is. Another way...
I don't understand how stock heads could choke up with efficient boost? Why is it that DLM Level 1 cars with BONE STOCK HEADS AND CAM can make 850+ horsepower at the engine with a centrifugal blower, but a twin screw can't??? Is it stock heads.... or is it a twin screw blower running out of it's...
Bugeater,
I don't dispute posted information on this forum that helps educate us, BUT I don't agree with inaccurate information claimed to be "professional."
Cheers,
Chuck
MichaelP,
I stand firm on my comment. I meant NO insult whatsoever. I just feel a "professional" comparison should be agreed upon by both parties DLM and Roe Racing. Both are professionals, both should agree. I think that's fair.
I will continue to promote Roe or Levin products to everyone in...
Sean,
You still can't compare where the two systems come on. It's like me comparing my car to your car and mine makes well over 700 rear wheel. That's all I'm saying, no hard feelings. Hopefully Doug will post a Level 1 dyno sheet so we can do a fair comparison for both excellent tuners...
Paolo,
Your missing my point. I have total respect for Roe and his products, that's NOT even a question, I don't need to go further.
You need to go back and read the thread in it's entirety. JD and Doug said that his DLM system was a winter special deal. The system he bought back then was rated...
Tom,
Your rollbar sounds like a great product and the price seems very fair. I think the reason you can't use the harnesses on the street because they have to be DOT approved. Your right, I think the harnesses are much better and safer. Congrats on another great product.
Cheers,
Chuck
---To further this professional discussion regarding the differences in power curves---
Sean,
How do you perceive the word professional about that comparison? YOU, yourself said compare apples to apples.
Just look at the dyno dates  .
Cheers,
Chuck
My post wasn't intended to be harsh, sorry if it came across that way. I just don't believe you can compare the two systems. Boost is NOT just boost and the same goes for turbocharged motors. Some think 5 pounds of non-intercooled boost is not that much for a V10 Viper engine. That is so untrue...
I know the Roe supercharger is getting very popular for the DIY users. I don't think you could go wrong with Roe's system for cost and ease of installation. From my experience, and if your willing to spend the extra money, DLM has an excellent product too. You cannot compare the two products...
