Pass on your support for the Gen V and its team to Ralph Gilles
Free2go That is the best suggestion I have heard to save the Viper.Super Charged factory Gen.5 ,they would sell all they could make.I would buy one immediately.... sad news...viper plant shuttered until end June.
Personally I have run 5 back to back quarter mile runs using Launch Control at 5500 RPMs/all 10 second/11 Flat @128/129 runs..No issues at all with the car,temp at 175 .As for the track duty,don,t know,but I do run it hard to red line a lot ,no issues..The car loves to run hard.. Yes,I have driven the Gen.5s,it is improved over the Gen.4.Again,I like Vipers ,but the main issues I have ,is the locked computer and I would like a option of a DCT...As for the 991 TS,again the reason I bumped up is it is much better in everyway what the 997 TS.I am actually pleased that it...- FLL-B/W-GTS

I am a huge Viper fan and have owned 3 of them for 17 years and and will buy a new one as soon as the either unlock that computer,DCT or add big HP...The current car has just not progressed enough from my previous Gen.4. The new 991 Turbo S is improved in every way then the 997 Turbo S.Had 997 TS for 2 years and now have new 991 TS..While it may run the same or the 991 a bit faster then the 997,they both will run 10.60s to 10.90s all day long, every time(Bone Stock)...Best time for 14 TS is 10.62 @ 128...- FLL-B/W-GTS

Nothing sounds better in the world that Gen.2 Cam....That was so bad ass stock... Had a 96 RT for about 4 months,ditched it as soon as I saw that B/W GTS and heard that cam...That was a Viper.Nothing ran with that car at the time.... That is the position needs to be in now a days..- FLL-B/W-GTS

I missed nothing.... I do not believe for a minute Fiat/Dodge/SRT does not for knowledge and recourses to put a DCT in a new Viper if they wish... DCT, Convertible and unlock that computer and offer after market high performance parts and they will sell all the Vipers they can make.... Do...- FLL-B/W-GTS

Be real,one of the reasons very few people are buying Vipers is because it is only is offered in manual...Do you really think technology will go backwards ...DCT and Technology is the way forward and if SRT does not embrace this ,Viper will fail,sooner than later.. You have seen nothing yet,with these hundreds of new Gen.5 s sitting unsold at dealers,they will have to basically give them away to clear them out...Very Sad situation for a excellent car,this is SRT Management/Marketing and the(most/not all) greedy dealers doing... A change in SRT...- FLL-B/W-GTS

My old 997 TS ran 10.80s all day long..My new 991/911 TS is faster than the 997 TS.It will 10.60s..(Check Drag times on the 14 TS)The most important thing for me is that the new model is way nicer in every way.. Never drove older 911 Turbos,had 3 Vipers and a ZR1 from 1995 to 2011... I have been told they were very difficult to control..Probability like my 1996 RT10 or 97 GTS.. You are correct,the new 911/ 991 Turbo S does everything,it is very ,very hi tect...Very Easy to drive at it limits...- FLL-B/W-GTS

It is all good defending the Gen 5,it is the best Viper ever made. I have driven many Gen 5s and owned 3 Vipers myself. They may say the Viper line will open in June.You can bet, if all these new Vipers continue sitting on lots,it will not. Nervous about giving dealer my trade-in before new TA arrives...thoughts?
Please,I have had them want to do that we me on very expensive cars...No Way...To many thing can/do happen in todays world.Keep your Jag and your title close till your TA rolls off the truck and you inspect it...If they go broke , you are screwed...Never know what is happening behinds the scenes...- FLL-B/W-GTS

Excellent explanation to of the trans... Shifting a six speed manual is very cool and fun.I did it for 14 years with my 3 Vipers. Just saying it,should be a option so people that want it can have it.SRT is very capable in making it happen if they wish. This will save the Viper in years to...- FLL-B/W-GTS

Chevy can say the Corvette can shift faster than the Porsche DCT,their is no way.The DCTs on the Turbo 911s are instant upshifts/downshifts.How can one get faster than instant and compared to the shifting thru the gears I do not a human could shift a performance like that continuously .So,if you...- FLL-B/W-GTS
