Shutting down this thread would be just what the conspiracy theorists would want to fuel their (his?) cause.
...on the other hand, if you want to just consolidate the multiple similar threads, I'll drink (but not drive*) to that

...and if Apu was a VCA officer, I'd welcome him having the very first SRT to be parked in front of the Quickie Mart.
But seriously now, leaving The Simpsons storyline behind (and being far more PC), I'd like to add that a company which just MIGHT reward volunteers once or twice per decade...
Thanks for the many great photos. I think VCA officers should get early delivery just for their generous donations of tons of awesome film/photos/time spent shooting the pix (oops wrong thread!)
Won't be parting with my GTS but that car has definitely gotten much better looking...is there a...
If you really think this topic is over-discussed on this board, you haven't yet checked out the autopia detailing link that Dixter posted. It's unbelievable.
Believe the MGWLtd "Snake Gripper" knob is actually a little shorter than their "First Strike" model.
Have no heat complaints here and the height difference between the Gripper and the factory knob is substantial. You should be very happy with a change to a Gripper.
My guess (since that's what any of us posting in this thread are doing) is that RT/10 and GTS trade in values will not be hit as hard as some fear since the classic design of these vehicles is so very different from (and better looking than) the new SRT.
I would further guess however that the...
Sure, go ahead and valet it if you aren't bothered by chipped and/or smashed up front fascia and lots of nasty wheel rubs from hitting curbs. Sure, do it if a few door dings are cool with you. And if you're really lucky, maybe the valet can flat spot your tires too if he gets to park out of...
...but don't forget to read the magazine's companion piece on page 11 about Hennessey's corporate problems, ("The Steering Column", by Csaba Csere, Car & Driver, September 2002)
UFO:
Just as the hot new Mercedes SL500 came out, various sellers advertised low mileage used vehicles as having "No luxury tax, and no gas guzzler tax" which is true, since they were used cars. The wildly inflated prices I saw however where FAR greater than the list price + lux tax + GG tax +...
Hate to think my original post here last month was incorrect, but is the "new" Dodge MSRP pricing announcement everyone's talking about ($79,995) mean it is under $80k INCLUDING the gas guzzler tax and that I either overstated the price or Dodge reduced the price ?
I always assume the MSRP...
I get one or two viruses sent to me daily.
Saving grace has been anti-virus software. If you have ADSL/DSL/Cable Modem where you might be "always on" (and always vulnerable to hackers), you should go for something more complete such as Norton Internet Security (very user friendly with updates...
Class action lawsuit vs DCX on the seat belt issue certified by court today, 7/5/02, http://www.unsafebelts.com/news.shtml
Per the site, affected Vipers are: 1995-1997, and 2002 but double check in case I missed a year!
"Informed sources" indicate that the plaques were put on in no particular order--they bear little or no relation to the sequence in which the cars were built. (my guesses at the exceptions are probably #1 and #360). Enjoy, no matter what your number is!!!!
Some swear that WD-40 sprayed on to the dead bugs will allow them to easily come off.
Putting on the full Zaino treatment before departure might help bugs come off easier later.
Has anyone found if there is an MB Quart speaker that will fit the factory cut outs in the GTS without any modifications? Here's their link, www.mbquart.com
Re: New Mobil1: Which viscosity is factory fill in \'02 Vipers?
Thanks all.
I knew it was 10W-30 in past model years but that label on the brand new formulation "for higher mileage cars" was freakin' me out!
Still wondering if SuperSyn is really an improvement or not? Hope it's not a...
Sound is mediocre but far better than in an RT/10. Many replace the speakers to start as it seems they are the weakest link to most folks' ears.
Sorry, I know nothing about playing home made CDs since I'm a vinyl freak (just sounds better) and still have yet to figure out how to put a nice VPI...
Keep in mind that if you've recently bought a 2002 and decide to get a Chrysler MaxCare extended warranty now, you should be able to get a slightly better price than those previously quoted on this thread.
Besides obviously being a new car, most are covered by the recent promotion of the...
Pretty sure that in '02 the hard top is now standard and is included in the price of the vehicle.
When I bought my 2000, the hard top was an extra cost option (glad I took it) and the MSRP of an RT/10 was much less than a GTS---obviously because the hard top was optional.
The tonneau cover...
Not cheap but nice looking Viper version approx $39 either at www.snakeoyl.com or via JonB at www.partsrack.com (click on "accessories"). Had 'em on my previous car and the red looked great, photos on both websites don't do them justice. Just some foam cushion with velcro on back. Slight...
New Mobil1: Which viscosity is factory fill in \'02 Vipers?
Noticed that Mobil-1 has been promoting how it is now "reformulated with SuperSyn" and that Mobil-1 10W-30 is now promoted by Mobil for "Higher Mileage Cars."
Any idea which viscosity is factory fill on 2002 Vipers?
FYI, Mobil-1...
MSRP for the SRT has supposedly been announced at $83,795 (including gas guzzler tax) and dealer cost is approx $7,300 less than that (varies slightly by dealer "market adjustment" for local Dodge advertising). Don't know the hold-back % or if there is dealer cash-back but, hey, let your dealer...
