Re: Barbera Dodge and Re: Clunk from rear of car

Since this will address two topics, I just started a new thread. Took delivery three weeks ago of my '94 from Bill P... it was perfect except for a clunking sound, noticible over hard bumps, and when shifting. Our first guess was, a loose exhaust pipe. Called Bill, he said it wasn't doing...

    clunk from rear of car

I also have a clunk... it's in the shop today for it, in fact. Noticible when I shift. I originally suspected it was an exhaust pipe loose, however the dealer just called and said it's the cross member bushings. We'll see if fixing those does the job.... By the way, does $150 (1.5 hrs)...

    buck & surge

PErhaps a throttle cable sync... excellent instructions for performing this exist on the board, I think perhaps in Illustrated Upgrades section? If not there, do a search. But as was said before, tis the nature of the beast.

What is 2000 R/T 10 with 24500 miles worth??? Needing to sell!

You'll most likely be able to get high 40s for it, but the "need to sell quickly" is the x factor...

    What's my 97 GTS worth?

Re: What\'s my 97 GTS worth? If the body/paint is in good shape, I don't think you'd have much trouble getting that.

Any luck with taking your viper for service in the Bucks County, PA or Trenton, NJ area?

I am taking my car to Barbera tomorrow. I will let you all know how it goes. Just an FYI although I realize it's apples and oranges, I have taken my other Dodge (Stratus) there before, and everything seemed on the up-and-up, they diagnosed a problem that several other area mechanics couldn't...

Who is the best (most accurate, most real world) price guide for used viper

By averaging Ebay (too low) and this site's classifieds section (a tad high), you can formulate a good average.

Did I just get ripped off?

I've noticed that little things such as plugs and bulbs tend to carry the fattest markups at dealerships. Chrysler dealership wanted $24 for a plan ol 9007 headlight that I got next door at Pep Boys for $7.

    Front fascia-painting and covering

Interesting. Even in my car, which was just repainted a year or two ago, there are already a few small chips in the lower front fascia, probably from small stones, etc. And I refuse to put a traditional bra on it. Perhaps somewhere down the line, getting the fascia repainted, then coated...

What is with the brakes Squealing

A popular recommendation will probably be to switch to EBC Green brake pads. Check partsrack.com

Vanquish, Got any pics for us? I'd be curious to see the difference. Probably hard to capture in a photo though. Now for the big question- how much did the protectant set you back?

    Wooooo hoooooo!!!!!! (first Viper!)

Battery is in the rear wheel well, which is where it's been since late '93? Mine is a '94 and I know my battery is back there. Owners manual said it's back there to help with weight distribution. I've only had mine a week, and already I get looks that seem to be wondering what such young...

    Why so much heat?

Well, by that logic, because the aluminum block DOESN'T hold the heat longer, that means it dissipates it faster, thus making the heat buildup in your garage more noticeable.

    Youngest Viper Owners Please Reply!!!!

23, flawless RT/10 with 19k miles, no help from Dad, and proud of it.

    RT pricing?

It is my understanding that the '96 used a better, but still not same as Gen II, head gasket material.
  20. M

    RT pricing?

What color combo? Where is it located? How are the tires? Will the A/C system need charging? All these things will play into it. I'd say ~$35k.

Difference between driving Gen I vs. Gen II

I'm curious to know this as well. I drove my Gen I on the highway last night and it felt like it was floating.

    Sold my Viper today....

With one exception, I haven't seen genI's going in the $40s... I've seen plenty of pristine ones going for mid to high $30s though, and 'acceptable' ones for low to mid $30s.
