FWIW, I'd stick to 2 1/2" muffs if you're keeping the stock ex manifolds. Going to a 3" pipe will slow down ex velocity and may lose a few hp. Sound will also be louder with a 3" exhaust. 3" exhaust should only be used with headers.
The car will never be the same. I'd take the insurance money and sell what's left for a racecar. A salvage title will give the car a bad vibe forever (maybe that's good in this case). Maybe you can come away with $50K or so. Good luck.
I tried that with the clutch pedal pushing. Pulled out the assembly and it was FINE! Somehow, the clutch pedal got a little bent (???) and I just took a dremel tool and clearanced the bracket. My wife appreciates this mod a lot more than I do. She was always afraid of getting stuck.
jp has a ringer viper. I've never seen a gen I with tubes and full exhaust with 450rwhp. Most with these mods (like mine) are (400-410). Gen Is baseline 350-360 rwhp.
bellangers, high flow cats, dynomax race muffs and tubes/filters got me to where I am. I probably need to apply VecII next to get the extra 15-20hp I'm missing I've got a set of 3.55s ready to go as soon as I find a cheap gen II donor rear end to setup.
Red 93, which crower cam did you go...
I didn't use paint. I used real concrete stain. I did it myself, so it only cost $500 or so for a 22X34 garage. But I spent a whole weekend cutting grooves into the floor with a carbon disk in my skilsaw!
Unfortunately, the concrete is still susceptible to staining. It is just colored...
I did the chiropractor thing for a while when insurance picked it up. The Drs couldn't find anything substantial. Never got an MRI or CAT, crappy insurance wouldn't pay.
Maybe I'll try again, but with my history, they may say its preexisting (I've already heard that one!)
I bought from Lowe's some low profile allen screws in stainless that almost rethreaded the sheetmetal. Buy extras, or a tap, because I would ruin 1 out of 3. They're much neater than the bulky cap head screws shown above. And with a corresponding ss washer, look pretty nice. I just need to...
I saw a black one parked in the tow-away zone at a local grocery store. I knocked on the passenger's window and talked to the hot lady inside. Her boyfriend/husband just bought it (second in Austin after Michael Dell's) and they were driving it home. I offered to show her around the track if...
No kidding about back problems. I put myself out of action for the entire Thanksgiving day by simply driving my RT/10 to the gas station for the morning paper. I never felt a pop or a crick, but excruciating pain when trying to get out (in front of 20 or so onlookers!)

those time seem too fast for 405 rwhp. Was that a dynojet or Mustang dyno? I think about 400 on a mustang equals closer to 430 on a dynojet, or something like that. What was your 60'?
I seems that 500hp should get me to 11.0. $3000 could buy some nice headwork, posibly from Greg...
A fellow racer gave me an RPS aluminum flywheel with the carbon fiber inserts. Can I run this flywheel with a new, Dodge clutch (organic)or do I have to replace the inserts for steel?
I plan on keeping future horsepower in the 500-550 range.
I know the stock clutch is good for 600+ hp, but am...

You're right where I want to be. Are you running a heads/cam package? You can't get to 520/535 without going deep into the motor, can you?
I run 12.0 in spring with pilots, it takes dr's to get me there in the summer.
I've gone through more front tires that rears! This over brake biasing can be fixed however, and will be done to my car next month.
$$$ still plays an important role in which year a person buys. Equal miles, the '96 is still cheaper than the '02. I think color influences people a lot...
The worst thing about the "daily driver" thing is that you have to wash it ALL THE TIME! I wash my cars maybe twice a year. My Vipers are always beautiful, my Grand Cherokee is always a mess! Unless you live in sunny southern Ca or you love to wash your car, get a diff daily driver.
And...
I've been running the 12.0 index for a couple of years now, but looking for more bragging rights and maybe fewer sandbaggers. How much power are you guys running to go 11.0, and how are you getting there? blower, nitrous or bolt-ons? How competitive are you with your current power level?
thanks
I guess you can do what Dean Lee did and join my Austin/San Antonio club!
It sure feels good to say that after playing second fiddle to those guys for so many years. :)
Re: Good news and bad news.
I've gotten an extra inch or so by disconnecting sway bar. It takes one nut per side and a strategic tap with a soft hammer to knock it loose.
my 95 picked up 20hp with Bellangers alone. I already had highflow cats and 3" muffs. Now at 399rwhp, completely stock was 366, I believe. Then smooth tubes and K&Ns, then I opened exhaust.
Bellangers sound cool, but I was hoping for an extra 10-15hp.
