Information would help... Maybe some pictures? Mike

Which of these is not like the others??

Many people who drive these cars agressively will find oiling problems under prolonged hard braking and cornering. Generally the cornering forces during street use don't last long enough to cause starvation, but I can attest to the oiling issues under high-speed braking!!! <yikes>

    K&N - detrimental to car?

Typically the oil-sub filters do not trap particulates down to the level you get when using paper filters. Here's a cool article testing a number of filters: Filtration Testing for Amsoil, K&N, Napa, Jackson Racing, Baldwin, and Mazda air filters on a Miata If you have to have the extra...

    1996 GTS 345/30RZ19 rubbing problem

I have aftermarket coilovers which have adjustment collars on them to easily adjust ride height. If you have a stock setup, there is no easy adjustment for this. When I changed to the 19" wheels, I was able to choke the collar up to make up for the different tire radius. Frankly, I'm...

    1996 GTS 345/30RZ19 rubbing problem

I really think you should STRONGLY consider not making any modifications to the body of the vehicle. As Dan stated, if you're going to take it to the track, the 18" option is really the best way to go. The vehicle responds well to the geometry of an 18" tire and the little extra sidewall helps...

    Too good to be true?

That part number for the Fel-Pro gasket looks to be the V10 Dodge 3500 head gasket set. I'm ALMOST positive the trucks are forward-cooling and have different jacket holes, so they would not work. :( Mike

    1996 GTS 345/30RZ19 rubbing problem

The wheel offset is likely not correct for your car. I have CCW 505A's on my Viper -- same tire sizes as you, with no problems. I also noticed your ride is pretty low; maybe a little too much so. Are you having any bottoming issues?

    I need T&D rockers ASAP!!

I have a set I have not put on my motor yet... I've had them in a closet for the last 16 months or so. I would do a swap if you want to buy me another set. PM me if you need. Mike

    wheel hop!!

Lots of great suggestions. Biggest culprit is tires. Try inflating to 36, then 40, then 44 PSI and note the difference in launch. I have noticed little difference in hop with adjusted shock settings. Fresh tires will always provide better launch control.

Dad got a viper engine in up at work...

Judging by the picture, it looks like whoever removed the cylinder heads nutted on that cylinder. The nut would have been much dirtier and possibly banged up if it got sucked while driving. ;)

Has Cadillac fixed IRS wheel hop?

Double bump... This is an interesting one. If no one else has tried it, I'm going to see if I can find one HD shaft and give it a try.

Installed Roe 14" front brake kit

Tom, are you saying the 38mm upgrade I got from you was actually a 40mm? I think you may have had a mild lapse... which is rare, so I had to mention something! :)

Viper GTS Gran Turismo 5 for PS3 *Video*

Graphics look good, but MAN -- HIRE SOMEONE WHO KNOWS THE FIRST THING ABOUT STUDIO RECORDING!!! Every stinkin car sounds like its running in a garage on the dyno. Echo galore. I'm still buying it :)

Sequential straight-cut (yum!). Listen to videos of GTP cars -- that's what it will sound like. Go fer it Carl!!! Oh, or you can get a racing kart and roll out with us instead! Mike

How many hours to R&R a motor?

Disturbed has it pretty much nailed. Depending on your exhaust, it can be more painful (add 1-3 hours if you have tubular headers). Stock exhaust makes the job easy. If it's a crate motor, you can shave about 2 hours off the install. Mike

3.33's did not make my car faster...

<hijack> Sorry for sounding gay, but I love Tom! He's always got the best and usually irrefutable answers on here. I know I've learned a thing or two from him over the years. Mike </hijack>

    Unplug of odometer at transmission?

VERY VERY bad idea. The reverse lockout will not function as it does not know when your car is in forward motion. Could be a real scary shift at high speeds.

    Stock Brakes suck....bad !!!

Stock rotors are actually okay -- it's the front/rear bias that sucks most on these cars. Contact Tom F&L on this board (do a search for 40mm rear brakes). He'll hook you up with a set of high-displacement rears that will put a smile on your face and will be easy on the budget! Have fun...

    Rotor resurfacing...do I have to?

Hey Chuck -- yeah I remember reading that article. I think he stated what many people believe is warpage is actually fracturing... It's tough to say unless you had them magged, you know what I mean? Either way, many people refer to it as warpage. Mike

    Unless you have runout/warpage/heat checking...

When do you need a new clutch?

For mine, the clutch was not the weak link. The slave cylinder/throwout unit got rusty or sticky and I went to take off kinda hard from a stop and even with the clutch out, it didn't engage. Smoked that clutch. ;)
