While I am not suggesting that the Viper become a grocery-getter, I do know that my GTS can hold a dreadnaught size guitar in a hard shell case, along with two gig bags. I have had that happen to me as well. In my case, it was the hood. I hadn't closed it completely, and the right front corner was not quite latched down tight.
