    My Supercharger /Heads Project Begins

Covered the intake ports. GOOD!! I dropped a screw down one of them ports before I had a chance to plug them. Fortunately, I was able to fish the screw out with a magnet through the spark plug hole. Pulling the heads was not in my project plans! Ditto on the progress pics!

    Replacing Water Pump

I've always heard that parts such as alternators, starters, water pumps from the dealer are actually rebuilt units. The difference is that these units are completely gutted and all new internals are used. Basically the only thing used is the casing. Some rebuilt oems from places like Autozone...

Hang in there and good luck!. It's good that you are looking now. That way you have a good feel for what the market is and what a fair price should be when you finally make the plung.

    Viper prices

I don't think anybody knows how the Viper market will play out in the future. You'll see lots of speculation, opinions and theories following my reply. One of the problems I see right now is that there are a few people out there with money to throw that buy these "luxury toys". They get tired of...

    60,000 for no stripes!

If I'm not mistaken, they're only going to produce 2,000 of the ZR1's for the first year meaning you're either going to have to anny up a hell of a lot more than the 100K MSRP and/or have your foot in the right door to get one. Don't see this having any affect on the Vip's. Or at least not yet.

Doing timing chain cover gasket, any tips?

Don't need to remove the cross bar. Careful with the cam position sensor! Check the oil pump bolts and water pump while you've got the cover off. Use plenty of RTV on those 4 corners of the crank case when putting the oil pan back on as the WIZ says. If you have a pinned crank like me...

    Flex

Not sure that flex additive has anything to do with the paint being more susceptible to chipping. Its more for ensuring the paint stays pliable so if the facia flexes, the paint won't crack or separate. I think its more like the amount of catalyst he used, depending on the type of paint. I know...

    Snake Hydes Still Around??

I haven't seen any recent topics on Chad and Snake Hydes. Just wondering if he's still in business and how I can get a hold of him. Looking to get some interior work done.

    Nagging Oil Leak!!

I guess the assumption (at least on my part) was that the oil pan bolt holes wasn't drilled and tapped all the way through the case therefore how can oil be coming down through them. Makes sense if this is the case, however. And apparently this is the case if the Wiz says so.:2tu:

    Nagging Oil Leak!!

Might thoughts exactly. After looking at the seal design pattern on the pan gasket, you would think.:dunno:

    Nagging Oil Leak!!

Thanks Chuck! The bolts on the driver's side near the rear seem to be where the jest of the leaking is. I've already taken a few bolts out, slapped some sealant on them and re-installed but the leak persists (maybe not as bad). Probably need to do a few more.

    Nagging Oil Leak!!

OK.. I've dropped my oil pan twice now in an attempt to stop this slight but still nagging oil leak I had ever since I dropped it the first time to fix my timing chain cover leak. I've applied gasket sealer in the four corners of the block as required each time I dropped the pan. The leak...
